At 9:52 AM, a man emerged from a Toyota Corolla and began shooting outside the War Memorial in the capital city of Ottawa killing Corporal Nathan Cirillo, a reservist with the the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders in Hamilton. The prime minister and other politicians were evacuated from Parliament Hill and the city has been in lock-down. It is believed there is another gunman or gunmen. The shooter, now identified as Michael Zehaf-Bibeau, was shot by Sargent-at-Arms Kevin Vickers:
