Friday Post

Just in time for the week-end ...

A two-state solution? Like the many times it has been tried before and didn't work? That two-state solution?

Ruling out Donald Trump's approach, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says he favours a "two-state solution" and won't be moving Canada's embassy in Israel to Jerusalem.

Reiterating Canada's long-standing view, Mr. Trudeau said Ottawa will not recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital, though he refrained from saying anything that could be implied as criticizing Mr. Trump for the controversial move. ...

"Canada has a long-standing policy on the Mideast. We need to work towards a two-state solution through direct negotiations. That is why we will continue to engage constructively and substantively in the region and with our partners and friends around the world."

It is obvious that Trudeau couldn't broker his way out of a wet paper-bag but here he has no interest in brokering anything. The Palestinians have no desire in co-existing with Israel. The decades of attempting to impose a two-state solution have failed utterly. The insistence on the status quo here is unlike keeping the failing status quo of the two Koreas. What is one failed communist state attached to a cheap labour warehouse like China? Instead, the Palestinians represent sandbags against the tide of Israel, a successful democratic state with no oil reserves unlike their anxious and angry Arab neighbours.

It's better to cuss at Israel than offend anti-semitic interests at home and abroad.

Also - this is the kind of cowardice that costs one votes:

After a day of silence, the Conservative Party confirmed Thursday it’s not ready to definitively say whether or not Canada should recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

Foreign critic Erin O’Toole said he condemns statements from Palestinian leaders “almost encouraging violence,” but Tories want to be “very deliberate and cautious” about a decision on how to move forward.

“We’re not going to rush into any response based on the recent pronouncement of the United States but our caucus is going to discuss it. We think it’s a serious question that deserves consideration, not just a simple ‘no’ like the government gave yesterday,” he said.

Speaking of cowardice:

These guidelines:

Back in 2011, Trudeau condemned the Tory government for calling these practices barbaric, saying it was “pejorative,” overly “judgmental,” and that the government should make an “attempt at responsible neutrality.”

Neutrality about this:

Haemorrhage
Haemorrhage is one of the most common complications of FGM, as excision of the clitoris involves cutting across the high pressure clitoral artery and attempts to stop bleeding may not be effective. Acute extensive bleeding can lead to haemorrhagic shock or even sudden death in the case of cataclysmic haemorrhage.

Shock
Shock may occur because of blood loss and the severe pain and trauma of the procedure. Both haemorrhagic and neurogenic shock can be fatal.

Pain
The majority of mutilation procedures are performed without anaesthetics and cause the girl severe pain. Even if a local anaesthetic is used, multiple insertions of the needle are often required.

Urinary retention
Urinary Retention is very common and may last for hours or days. It is commonly due to pain, tissue swelling, inflammation, injury to the urethra, and fear of passing urine on the raw wound. …

Recurrent urinary tract infections (UTIS)
Partial occlusion of the vagina and urethra means the normal flow of urine is deflected and the perineum remains constantly wet and susceptible to bacterial growth. Retrograde UTI's therefore commonly occur, affecting the bladder, uterus and kidneys. Damage to the lower urinary tract during the procedure can also result in urinary tract infections.

Chronic pelvic infections
Partial occlusion of the vagina and urethra increases the likelihood of infection and ascending pelvic infections are common. The infections are often painful and may be accompanied by a noxious discharge spreading to the uterus, fallopian tubes and ovaries - and frequently become chronic.

Infertility

Infertility can occur due to chronic pelvic infections causing irreparable damage to the reproductive organs.

This is what Liberals and their voters stand for: "neutrality".

Just in time for Christmas:

A national atheist organization gave a big “bah humbug” to Jesus with Nativity scene billboards that say “Just Skip Church, It’s All Fake News!”

The American Atheists targeted the billboards for the “the buckle of the Bible Belt,” placing them in Dallas, Texas, Oklahoma City and Tulsa, Okla., and Albuquerque, N.M., according to NBC.

Is it rational to deny things for which there is proof and to productive citizens who are happy with their beliefs in Christ, so much so that they celebrate His birthday every year?

Not unless one desperately needs to prove something to one's self.

(Merci beaucoup)
