Friday Post

Soon it will be Christmas Day ...

Dear kind people of the world, give if you can.

Thank you.

We may never know this useless murdering douchebag's motive ever:

The man suspected of opening fire at a Christmas market has been shot dead, the French interior minister has said.

Cherif Chekatt killed three people and injured 13 at a Christmas market in the French city of Strasbourg on Tuesday.

Minister of the interior Christophe Castaner said the the 29-year-old was killed in the Neudorf-Meinau area of the city after a police operation was launched at about 9pm on Thursday.

Three police officers had stumbled across a man they had believed was Chekatt and when they went to arrest him he turned to fire on them, Mr Castaner said.

The officers then shot and killed him.

And the world moves on.

Because Spock:

Nixon's opening of China, no longer the imperial state of disparate provinces whose inhabitants are ruled by Confucianism but a communist dictatorship wherein millions died to the bliss of Western nobodies, allowed that country to become the corrupt military power it is today and the source of North American woes.

Case in point:

China blamed Canada for fanning public outrage by arresting Huawei Technologies Co. executive Meng Wanzhou earlier this month, as Beijing continued to ramp up pressure on the U.S. ally.

(Sidebar: read - Canada didn't do what it was told and paid the price.)

Canada is inconsequential even to itself. Pierre's son can slobber over China's basic dictatorship and take Chinese businessmen's money but it cannot rattle its sabre enough to startle the paper dragon into releasing two Canadians currently enjoying Chinese prison hospitality. Hell, Canadian empty-suits won't even defend the press they eventually had to bribe to be on their side. They sure as hell can't make China visit them in detention regularly.

The two detained Canadians - Michael Kovrig and Michael Spavor - could have been anyone (more on the latter in a moment). China needs to make a point to its North American vassal state (as opposed to its North Korean vassal state) and a point it certainly made.

Back to Michael Spavor:

Spavor is the founder of a Paektu Cultural Exchange, focused on opening up international ties with North Korea. The website for the organization says it is “a non-profit social enterprise” dedicated to cross-cultural exchanges, trade, and investment between North Korea and “international organizations, businesses, and individuals to promote greater peace, friendship, and understanding.” Based in China and Canada, Paektu promotes travel to North Korea, including a five-day trip to Pyongyang for 2019 New Year celebrations with visits to hot springs and the de-militarized zone.

This North Korea:

Local Chinese authorities have for some time been relatively wont to let defector-related matters slide, according to the source. “But recently,” she added, “local governments are taking a harsher stance, perhaps because of pressure from the central government on account of perceived warmer ties with Pyongyang.”

According to multiple sources in China close to North Korean affairs, Chinese public announcements on “enhanced border security measures” are ubiquitous in border regions, promising up to 1,000 RMB for those who report illegal border crossings, residence, and employment of North Koreans. Those who personally capture and hand over North Koreans to the Chinese authorities stand to receive 2,000 RMB for their efforts.

They have also outlined stronger punishments for local residents who enter verbal agreements with North Koreans to help them cross the river or smuggle goods, threatening fines of up to 3,000 RMB for transgressors. Moreover, Chinese border guards have been ordered to shoot North Korean defectors caught illegally entering the country if they resist arrest.

But the crime that the MSS and MPS have most culpably failed to prevent or punish is rape. In fact, by most accounts, MSS and MPS officers are North Korea’s most notorious rapists. According to the U.N. High Commission for Human Rights, “Sexual violence by prison officials is reported to be common in holding centres.” Women who escape North Korea confirm this (see also pages 52-53). A South Korean NGO that collects testimonies of human rights abuses from refugees alleges that the rape of detainees is particularly prevalent in MSS detention centers in North Pyongyang Province. Some of the most heart-rending cases involve women who are still inside North Korea, whose stories were reported by covert journalists recently enough that we can suppose they are still being raped today.

Colonel Ri Chang-ju heads the Political Department of the local MSS office in Pochon County, Ryanggang Province. In November of 2017, he spotted a young wife, 20 years his junior and known for her beauty. He put her and her husband under surveillance and had them arrested for watching a South Korean drama. Ri interrogated them personally. Even after he extracted a substantial bribe from the husband, Ri repeatedly threatened and sexually assaulted the wife in detention over those next several days. Even after he released her, he continued going to her home to rape her. Of course, the husband was powerless to protect her. Of course, the wife was powerless to resist. They both knew how much worse it could have been.

In September of 2018, the Chinese police caught and repatriated a North Korean woman to the MSS in North Hamgyeong. The guards, who had been drinking through their shift, began to touch her and remove her clothes. She tried to run, but the guards caught her, brutally beat her, handcuffed her to a bed, and raped her. After the morning shift change, the new guards found her, still cuffed the bed and unconscious. They took her to the hospital, where her family saw her condition and complained to MSS commanders. The MSS declined to punish the guards and told the family that if they pursued their complaint, it would only make things more difficult for them.

For Michael Spavor to associate with Kim Jong-Un and arrange holidays to this rape craphole makes him a douchebag of the highest order and no one for whom any effort should be expended to rescue.

The suicide of Chinese-American physics professor Shoucheng Zhang, who dabbled in technology investment outside of his position at Stanford, has raised concerns this week after an anti-Chinese regime publication revealed his ties to the Chinese tech giant Huawei.

The United States plans to counter the rapidly expanding Chinese and Russian economic and political influence in Africa, U.S. national security adviser John Bolton said on Thursday, calling business practices of the two nations "corrupt" and "predatory."

It's terrorism and the culprits should be charged as terrorists, even in Canada where terrorists are generously rewarded for their wanton murders and destruction:

North American police forces are dealing with multiple bomb threats that have so far been proven to be unfounded.

Canadian police forces in Toronto, Ottawa, Calgary and other major cities say they have responded to the threats, but no devices have been found. One of the threats forced Toronto Police to evacuate a downtown subway station. However, Calgary Police say they don’t believe the threats are credible.

Speaking of terrorism:

Public Safety Minister Ralph Goodale said Friday he would have his officials review use of words like Sikh, Sunni and Shia to describe terrorist threats, after a report suggesting Canada was again at risk from Sikh extremism sparked fierce criticism.

His promise seemed to do little to calm the anger, however, as the Sikh community’s main national organization called afterward for all 20 MPs and one senator of the religion to resign over the issue.
Some of the outcry erupted from within Goodale’s own caucus, as a Liberal backbencher urged that the mention of potential Sikh violence be removed entirely from the Public Safety Canada terror-threat report.

Yes, we mustn't upset anyone.

If they are so incompetent, don't vote for them:

A new poll shows the Canadian People give bad marks to the vast majority of the Trudeau Liberal cabinet, with only some exceptions.

The Angus Reid survey asked what Canadians thought about the performance of all cabinet ministers, dividing them up into three tiers based on name recognition.

Among the most well-known ministers, Chrystia Freeland (+20), Marc Garneau (+16), and Ralph Goodale (+3) get positive marks.

For all the other famous ministers, the ratings are negative.

The worst ratings are given to Ahmed Hussen (-26), Bill Morneau (-20), Bill Blair (-19), and Seamus O’Regan (-17).

For the next tier of ministers (in terms of name recognition), only Jody Wilson-Raybould (+14), Melanie Joly (+10), and Lawrence MacAulay (+4) get positive marks.

Canadians give terrible marks to Amarjeet Sohi (-36), Patty Hajdu (-22), Navdeep Bains (-20), and Carolyn Bennett (-15).

Among the lowest tier of ministers, the numbers are mostly negative, while name recognition is under 50%.

None of these @$$holes should be getting good points.

A lone voice from the gallery cried out: "Answer the damn question, you pansy!":

During Question Period, Justin Trudeau was questioned about his “year of failure,” by Opposition Leader Andrew Scheer.

The way it’s supposed to work is that the Opposition Leader asks a question, and the PM at least pretends to give an answer that’s somewhat related to the question that was asked.

But that’s not how Trudeau did it.

Instead, he completely refused to answer the question that was put to him, and instead looked up and started talking to the gallery.

His tone turned totally condescending, as he launched into a tangent about Conservatives supposedly wanting to ask him questions – even as he refused to answer the question he was asked.

Oh, the impotent rage.

By not rewarding excellence, you encourage failure:

The North Vancouver school district is continuing its gradual elimination of the honour roll but said academic achievement will still be recognized.

Last year, it eliminated honour roll for students in Grades 8 and 9. This year, it's phasing out Grade 10. Next year, some schools will get rid of it completely.

"So instead of just printing a list and putting it on a law, the schools decided that they wanted to recognize academic achievement in a more meaningful way," district communications manager Deneka Michaud told On The Coast host Gloria Macarenko. "Similar to how you would have awards ceremonies that would honour sports or arts."

I remember when people warned about a slippery slope and people ignored them:

Experts the federal government charged with looking at whether people suffering only from mental disorders should be eligible for medically assisted death couldn't even agree on what evidence is relevant to the question, according to reports tabled in Parliament Wednesday.

There was more consensus on two other issues: whether mature minors should be eligible for assisted dying and whether those facing eventual loss of mental capacity should be able to make advance requests for assisted deaths.

"And what rough beast, its hour come round at last, Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?":

On the second day of Christmas, the only things stirring in some apartments in Frankfurt, Germany, were some Muslim refugees, the German cops smashing through the door and the chemicals in their kitchen bomb labs which they had been plotting to use to commit mass murder a year before 9/11.

It was the year 2000. And Muslim terrorism was far from unknown, but still a little bit exotic.

While the Algerian terrorists did not prove very cooperative, their home videos were very evocative, especially a shaky video videotape taken by Salim Boukari at the Christmas market in Strasbourg, France.

"This cathedral is Allah's enemy," the Algerian Muslim refugee narrated as he watched the cheerful shoppers outside the Strasbourg Cathedral.

"These are the enemies of Allah. They dance and are happy. You will go to hell, Allah willing."

You know it's bad when even fellow atheists are pointing out your douchebaggery for using the legalised vendetta system to ban Christmas:

Mangel and Yasué's three-year-old was attending BIMS in 2014 when they heard about the school's plans for the month of December, which included decorating elf ornaments and potentially also lighting candles on a menorah.

Mangel, who was on the board of directors for the school, wrote an email to other members saying it wasn't appropriate for preschoolers to celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah or any other "religious/political event" — including, he said, Remembrance Day.

"I certainly hope that there will be no discussion of Santa Claus at BIMS. I am absolutely against anyone blatantly lying to my daughter," Mangel wrote. ...

That demand amounted to discrimination on the basis of race, ancestry and religion, Korenkiewicz said.

"I find nothing in the evidence that could  justify the refusal to register [the child] unless Dr. Yasué and Mr. Mangel essentially agreed that they would be significantly limited in their ability to raise issues about the cultural aspects of the BIMS program," Korenkiewicz wrote.

She said the school should pay the child $2,000 and the parents $5,000 each as compensation for the discrimination.

Douchebags will continue being douchebags when you reward them.

One day, the daughter will reject her miserable parents' ideologies when they need her the most to carry on their mission to be insufferable @$$holes no one likes.
