Don't Mention the War

The Chinese government, the same government that arrests religious believers and political dissidents and harvests their organs, that monitors citizens and awards them according to ideological purity, that infiltrates various levels of foreign governments and other aspects of society, that arrests citizens from other countries at whim and uses them as leverage and is currently in the process of breaking the back of a grassroots political movement in Hong Kong, has warned Canada not to interfere:

Chinese officials accused Foreign Affairs Minister Chrystia Freeland of “meddling” in China’s internal affairs Sunday after her weekend statement condemning violence in Hong Kong in the wake of escalating tensions between pro-democracy protesters and police. ...

That statement prompted the spokesperson for the Chinese Embassy in Canada to fire back, calling for Freeland to “immediately stop meddling in Hong Kong affairs and China’s internal affairs.”
“The Canadian side should be cautious on its words and deeds,” when it comes to Hong Kong, the spokesperson wrote.

Not that anyone cares what Chrystia Freeland thinks and one can recall how "bravely" Stephane Dion ignored Chinese foreign minister Yi Wang's verbal assault of a reporter.

And let's not forget Justin's gushing praise of China and its dictatorship.

China's Liberal useful idiots aside, China has issued a warning everyone must heed.

So:

- don't point out how Hong Kong is still an autonomous region of China
- don't point out how China is lying about external political influence
- don't point out the violence used against protesters or how it is similar to another brutal quashing that China tried hiding
- don't point out how, unlike China and its vassal state, North Korea, people in other countries have every right to say what they please about any topic current or otherwise

Don't point out these things because they might hurt China's precious feelings and maybe inspire Chinese citizens into action against tyrannical rule.
