When You Think of COVID Screw-Ups, Think of Canada

Plan? What plan?:

An independent review of Canada’s pandemic early warning system has called for a “critical rethink” of the operation and has recommended the federal government overhaul how it conducts risk assessments on outbreaks.

Procurement Minister Anita Anand says the Canadian government will donate a total of 17.7 million additional doses of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine through the COVAX vaccine sharing program.

(Sidebar: Justin took from the COVAX program because, naturally,  his lack of preparedness and reliance on China made him look bad.)

Alberta, like Saskatchewan, has opted out of career-ending vaccine passports:

Premier Jason Kenney says Alberta will not be following the lead of Quebec and Manitoba on vaccine passports.

Quebec intends to bring in the passports, beginning in September, for anyone wanting to visit non-essential businesses in parts of the province where the COVID-19 rate is high.

Manitoba has been issuing proof-of-immunization cards to residents who are two weeks past their second shot.

If people believe that proof of these flu shots is necessary to have when leaving the home, demand one for hepatitis and measles, too.
