But don't take my word for it:
Liberal cabinet ministers spent Tuesday downplaying the latest dig by U.S. president-elect Donald Trump, who called Prime Minister Justin Trudeau a “governor” of “the great state of Canada.”
Trump did so in a post overnight on his Truth Social account, saying it was a pleasure to have dined “with Governor Justin Trudeau of the great state of Canada” and that he looked forward to seeing “the governor again soon” to continue their “in depth talks on tariffs and trade.”
Trump is letting the little girls in the House of Commons know the depth and breadth of his contempt for a land-mass that used to be a serious country and committed ally to the US.
It's hard to put on a brave face after being insulted globally.
The Narcissist really believes that he argues from a position of strength. It's what a narcissist does. He truly believes that he is a charismatic polymath capable of taking this country's reins and guiding it into the next century:
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says Ottawa will respond to any tariffs imposed by the United States on Canadian goods, arguing that retaliatory measures were crucial to getting the Americans to back down during earlier trade spats.
(Sidebar: which resulted in nothing.)
**
The prime minister said his government is still mulling over “the right ways” to respond, referencing Canada’s calculated approach when Trump hit Canada with steel and aluminum tariffs.
“It was the fact that we put tariffs on bourbon and Harley-Davidsons and playing cards and Heinz ketchup and cherries and a number of other things that were very carefully targeted because they were politically impactful to the president’s party and colleagues,” he said.
It is a form of delusion that not even the field of psychology can adequately explain.
Though it has been tried:
And let's not forget Justin's usual queen bee pettiness:
When Trump made his one and only trip to Canada, to a G-7 meeting in Charlevoix, Que., Trudeau decided to take potshots at Trump right after he left the meeting.
Problem for Trudeau was that Trump was still on Air Force One and heard his remarks. He derided Trudeau for having been nice to him, face to face, then carping about him once his back was turned.
**
A Trump win would be "a step back" and a victory for "a populism that reflects a lot of anguish and fury ... without necessarily providing solutions", Trudeau said.
(Sidebar: and how have you made Canada not a vassal state for China, Justin?)
What comes around goes around, b!#ch.
