Look how Canada has devolved:
Within hours of Canada receiving the first news of a terrorist massacre striking Israel on Oct. 7, 2023, almost all of its major cities witnessed impromptu public celebrations cheering the violence.
The one-year anniversary of the tragedy was not much different, although the size and brazenness of the celebrations this time was noticeably more extreme.
In Toronto, a crowd of several hundred saturated Yonge and Dundas square on Saturday before massing outside the city’s Israeli consulate. Video captured by Toronto man Jon Fraser showed the entire crowd engaged in a screaming call-and-response of “long live intifada!”
**
A masked speaker at a Vancouver anti-Israel rally shouted “Death to Canada” into a microphone, expressed support for terrorist groups Hezbollah and Hamas and burned a Canadian flag, according to videos circulating on the internet.
Aren't you happy that these idiots are everywhere?
That's what I would like to know:
Opposition MPs yesterday sought a committee inquiry into a videotaped incident in which an armed constable denied Parliament Hill access to a passerby because “he is not a supporter of Palestine.” It occurred during protests over Hamas’ October 7, 2023 kidnapping and killing of Jews in Israel including eight Canadians: “What has become of this country?”
What did Pierre Poilievre say that was not true?
Melanie Joly has run interference for the Trudeau government and completely ignored the savage sexual violence against Israeli women.
Hamas could not ask for a better spokeswoman.
This silencing of Pierre is the long arm of the government showing the lengths to which it will go to quell any criticism of it:
Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre is not allowed to speak in the House of Commons today as his public feud with Foreign Affairs Minister Mélanie Joly spilled into a second day.
House Speaker Greg Fergus delivered the penalty to Poilievre this morning, a day after he asked the leader of the opposition to withdraw a remark made yesterday accusing Joly of pandering to supporters of the terrorist organization Hamas.
Poilievre made the comment during question period Monday after he asked the Liberals to condemn what he called antisemitic and “genocidal chants from hateful mobs on our streets.”
Joly responded by naming the seven Canadians killed in the Hamas attack on Israel on Oct. 7, 2023 and saying the government stands with the Jewish people.
Poilievre said she hadn’t actually condemned antisemitism in Canada in her response and accused her of refusing to do so in a bid to score political points for what he called her desire to run for the Liberal leadership.
“She continues to pander to Hamas supporters and the Liberal party as part of her leadership campaign rather than doing her job,” he said.
Also - your lips to Santa's ears:
Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre on Tuesday doubled down on his call for Israel to pre-emptively strike Iran’s nuclear facilities, saying such an act would be “a gift by the Jewish state to humanity.”
Poilievre first voiced his support Monday at a commemoration event in Ottawa marking the one-year anniversary of Hamas’ Oct. 7, 2023, attack against Israel. The ensuing conflict in the Middle East reached a new crescendo last week, when Iran — which supports Hamas and other proxy militant groups fighting Israel — fired a barrage of ballistic missiles at Israel, which has vowed retaliation.
And:
Fazal Qadeer, an immigration consultant who had worked with Khan, said Khan was applying for refugee status on the basis of sexual orientation, saying he is gay, CBC reported on Oct. 7.
Immigration Minister Marc Miller said in September that Khan entered Canada on a student visa.
According to a U.S. criminal complaint that was unsealed in September 2024, Khan repeatedly expressed his support for ISIS and his intention to carry out a terrorist attack around November 2023. That month, he began interacting online with an undercover FBI agent, and explained his plan to attack Jewish religious centres in the United States around the time of the one-year anniversary of Hamas’s Oct. 7 terrorist attack against Israel.
As Ottawa continues to airlift hundreds of Canadians out of Lebanon this weekend, a new Leger survey shows slightly more than half of Canadians (52 per cent) think Canada does not owe protection to citizens who decide to stay in conflict zones despite warnings to leave.
According to the survey, only a third (34 per cent) think the federal government has a responsibility to protect and evacuate its citizens.
“The half-empty evacuation flights certainly underscores why the government is being so aggressive in communicating the need to leave now on available commercial flights, says Andrew Enns, executive vice-president at Leger. “As for the poll, those results may come into play should commercial evacuation options cease to be variable and the government has to orchestrate a more deliberate evacuation at their own expense.”
