We Don't Have to Trade With China

There was a time when this sort of thing would be considered treasonous:

NDP MP Niki Ashton and Green MP Paul Manly are among the featured speakers at an event arguing for the release of Huawei CFO Meng Wanzhou.

But, then again, the NDP has always been a party of financially irresponsible, emotionally retarded brown-shirts.

A Conservative motion calling for the Liberal government to make a decision on Huawei’s participation in our 5G networks, and come up with a plan to stop Communist Chinese agents from intimidating and harrassing Canadian Citizens, has passed.

The motion was supported by the Conservatives, NDP, Bloc, and Greens.

It was opposed by the Liberals.

The final margin was 179 in favour, with 146 against.

This motion

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau voted against a motion in the House of Commons calling upon the government to make a decision on Huawei's access to Canada's 5G network infrastructure within 30 days.

The Trudeau government has backed out of a plan to purchase embassy security equipment made by a Chinese company after public outrage prompted a security review of the deal.

In July, it was reported that a $6.8 million contract was awarded to Nuctech, a Chinese state-owned enterprise formerly run by the son of a top Chinese Communist Party official.

Nuctech was awarded the project over Canadian bidders. Had the contract been completed, Nuctech would have delivered, installed and operated the machines which were expected to be used in Canadian embassies throughout the world.

The Conservative opposition slammed the deal at a Wednesday government operations committee meeting.

“I’m sitting here, and I’m dumbfounded that this could have possibly happened. I’m sorry for sounding so critical, but good lord,” said Conservative MP Kelly McCauley

You're surprised? Really?

So there you have it. The position of our Liberal government, laid out in absolutely perfect concision: sure, they’re warehousing religious minorities in concentration camps and crushing freedom underfoot in Hong Kong, and yeah, they’re holding our citizens hostage and threatening our economy, but gosh, have you seen the spin-offs these tourists generate?

**

Canada’s captured elite have given China a free pass, despite its transgressions, and now threatens to turn Canada into a geopolitical outlier. The rest of the democratic world realizes that China is an enemy of the West and yet Canada sits on the sidelines.

You're being unfair, Miss Francis.

Do you know how hard it is to counter your boss? Justin does.
