The central focus of the week.
Tomorrow, Paul Ryan and Joe Biden will face off in the only vice-presidential debate. Joe Biden is an experienced politician yet gaffe-prone while the savvy Paul Ryan will earn his stripes in his first national debate. Paul Ryan has proven to be an intelligent man with facts at his command.
Liberal Democrats consider black voters to be "useful idiots". He said it; I didn't:
Not Nostradamus but just as prescient.
The next time there is a tsunami, give them nothing:
If we can just prevent them from taking control over a lion's share of our resources.
There was a time when people would be hanged for treason:
And how did this catastrophe happen?
Big Hollywood's touching tribute to James Doohan.
(With plenty of thanks)

Liberal Democrats consider black voters to be "useful idiots". He said it; I didn't:
“Useful idiots” are people who work as propagandists for causes whose goals they do not understand, and who are used cynically by the leaders of the cause.
Black Americans are largely non-monolithic, with the exception of political party affiliation. Since 1968, black voters have aligned with the Democratic candidate for U.S. President by an average 88.5% to 11.5% over all other parties. According to BlackDemographics.com, the highest percentage was for Barack Obama in 2008 (95%), while the low was 76% for Michael Dukakis.
Many black Americans don’t know U.S. History. The first black U.S. Congressmen were Republican. There was not a black Democrat until more than sixty years later. Those early black congressmen (in Reconstruction times) were part of a Republican majority that passed comprehensive legislation that outlawed any form of discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion or gender.
That sweeping legislation was repealed less than 20 years later by the Democratic majority, which ushered in the era of Jim Crow (with “separate but equal” segregation as the law of the land) and the Ku Klux Klan. Yes, anti-discrimination legislation was first introduced into law by the Republican party, and later repealed by the Democrats....
Not Nostradamus but just as prescient.
The next time there is a tsunami, give them nothing:
An Indonesian school has expelled a 14-year-old girl, claiming she "tarnished" the institution's image after she was raped by a trafficking syndicate, a child rights activist said on Tuesday.I'll believe it when I see it:
Arist Merdeka Sirait, chairman of the National Commission for Child Protection, said a private school just outside Jakarta expelled the teenager during a ceremony attended by pupils on Monday.
A teacher told the girl she had "tarnished the school's image", said Sirait. "The school has worsened her trauma by humiliating her in front of hundreds of schoolmates," he said.
Citing a rarely used national-security protocol, Ottawa has sent a signal to Chinese telecom equipment giant Huawei Technologies that it would block the firm from bidding to build the Canadian government’s latest telecommunications and e-mail network.
Shenzen-based Huawei is riding a storm of suspicion. On Monday, a powerful U.S. congressional committee called the company a threat to U.S. security and recommended that its products be excluded from government computer systems. Canada’s national surveillance and cryptology agency, the Communications Security Establishment, has warned the military of potential security risks in installing Huawei’s equipment.
If we can just prevent them from taking control over a lion's share of our resources.
There was a time when people would be hanged for treason:
A Canadian naval officer pleaded guilty to espionage Wednesday, five years after a Crown lawyer said he walked into the Russian embassy, offered up military secrets for money and began a relationship that resulted in the sharing of a “vast amount” of sensitive information.
Sub-Lt. Jeffrey Paul Delisle rose before a provincial court judge in Halifax, showing no emotion and clasping his hands together, and acknowledged that he understood the consequences of his plea to the unprecedented charges.
And how did this catastrophe happen?
Big Hollywood's touching tribute to James Doohan.
(With plenty of thanks)
