But Wait! There's More!

The UN (which doesn't need Canadian membership, really) has admitted the Palestinian Authority as an "entity":

The 193-nation U.N. General Assembly on Thursday overwhelmingly approved the de facto recognition of a sovereign Palestinian state after Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas called on the world body to issue its long overdue "birth certificate."

There were 138 votes in favor, nine against and 41 abstentions. Three countries did not take part in the vote to upgrade the Palestinian Authority's observer status at the United Nations to "non-member state" from "entity."

The assembly approved the upgrade despite threats by the United States and Israel to punish the Palestinians by withholding funds for the West Bank government. U.N. envoys said Israel might avoid harsh retaliation as long as the Palestinians did not seek to join the International Criminal Court.

The much-anticipated vote came after Abbas denounced Israel for its "aggressive policies and the perpetration of war crimes" from the U.N. podium, remarks that elicited a furious response from the Jewish state.

This whole spectacle is just another reason in the list of reasons why the UN should be abolished or, at the very least, why nations like Canada should withdraw immediately. One hundred and thirty-eight nations, along with forty-one cowards, just handed Israel's perpetual thorn-in-its-side a tremendous boon, emboldening it (and rewarding its awful tirades for which it, along with other nutcases, has a platform at the UN). Of course, the Palestinian Authority is as likely to function as a fish out of water and now the other Islamists in the region don't have much in the way of leverage against Israel. However, Palestinians can now be considered legal "freedom fighters" whenever they lob rockets at Israel or kill its children with rocks.

And this is progress?

Moving on....

This article is just too sad to read:

The use of end of life care methods on disabled newborn babies was revealed in the doctors’ bible, the British Medical Journal.

Earlier this month, an un-named doctor wrote of the agony of watching the protracted deaths of babies. The doctor described one case of a baby born with ‘a lengthy list of unexpected congenital anomalies’, whose parents agreed to put it on the pathway.

The doctor wrote: ‘They wish for their child to die quickly once the feeding and fluids are stopped. They wish for pneumonia. They wish for no suffering. They wish for no visible changes to their precious baby.

‘Their wishes, however, are not consistent with my experience. Survival is often much longer than most physicians think; reflecting on my previous patients, the median time from withdrawal of hydration to death was ten days.

‘Parents and care teams are unprepared for the sometimes severe changes that they will witness in the child’s physical appearance as severe dehydration ensues.

‘I know, as they cannot, the unique horror of witnessing a child become smaller and shrunken, as the only route out of a life that has become excruciating to the patient or to the parents who love their baby.’

According to the BMJ article, the doctor involved had presided over ten such deaths in just one hospital neonatal unit.

We have diminished human life to such an extent that we cannot be considered souled creatures anymore. Why someone would think that starving a child would be painless is just unfathomable, morally and intellectually.

A censor's dream-come-true:

Badr is currently on trial for possibly libeling and defaming a female Egyptian artist, Elham Shahin, whom he called, among other disparagements, a "whore." An unrepentant Badr appeared again on TV, and made the following oath:
I have sworn to Allah, that any dog—for that is how Allah described them, for they are like dogs that are constantly panting—that any dog who mocks the Sharia, or mocks Islam, or blames it, we will cut out his tongue. I say this without hesitation: We will cut out his tongue! That's it. The time of transgressing against Islam, and speaking insolence, has passed—it is over. Today, the People of Lies [code for secular people] defend their falsehoods with great zeal; so shall we defend Islam with all our might—no matter what it costs, no matter what it costs! Let the whole world burn, but Islam not be mocked.
None of this is figurative. Days after Dr. Badr made these pronouncements, on October 30, a roaming band of Salafis in Suez attacked, severely beat and tried to cut the hand off a young Egyptian grocery store worker because he prevented one of their gang from using the store bathroom without permission. The bearded Salafi had said: "I do not ask for permission."

The assaulted youth's brother, angered at what had happened, then "insulted the men." Accordingly, Suez's new roaming band of Sharia enforcers, who call themselves the "Authority for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice," after Saudi Arabia's "morality police," claimed that he had insulted Islam and ordered that the man's tongue be cut out. This is the same group that earlier stabbed to death a young Egyptian man for walking in public with his fiancée.

Hey! I have an idea! Let's give them a state or billions of dollars in aid!

Related: also a censor's dream-come-true:

The 12-day conference of the International Telecommunications Union, a 147-year-old organization that's now an arm of the United Nations, largely pits revenue-seeking developing countries and authoritarian regimes that want more control over Internet content against U.S. policymakers and private Net companies that prefer the status quo.

This is the same organisation that won't stop genocide and tyranny.

The Hammer speaks:

Obama is claiming an electoral mandate to raise taxes on the top 2 percent. Perhaps, but remember those incessant campaign ads promising a return to the economic nirvana of the Clinton years? Well, George W. Bush cut rates across the board, not just for the top 2 percent. Going back to the Clinton rates means middle-class tax hikes that yield four times the revenue that you get from just the rich.

So give Obama the full Clinton. Let him live with that. And with what also lies on the other side of the cliff: 28 million Americans newly subject to the ruinous alternative minimum tax.

Republicans must stop acting like supplicants. If Obama so loves those Clinton rates, Republicans should say: Then go over the cliff and have them all.

And add: But if you want a grand bargain, then deal. If we give way on taxes, we want, in return, serious discretionary cuts, clearly spelled-out entitlement cuts and real tax reform.

Otherwise, strap on your parachute, Mr. President. We’ll ride down together.

The Republicans don't need to cow to Obama who is certainly not worth their time let alone allegiance. The middle-class will bear the brunt of this drop from the fiscal cliff, not the rich whose oleaginous insistence to punish the wealthy will never affect them. It is clear from so many instances that Obama bears no kinship the people he has, bafflingly, been elected to lead. The unemployment rate is still high, the nationalised health service is still unfair, millions are on food stamps and foreign policy is a joke. The Republicans should view Obama like one stricken with Ebola and avoid him accordingly. HE was the president for the last four years. Let him clean up his mess before the crowds get restless.

And now, Doctor Who visits Baby Jesus.

(With thanks)

Thursday Post

There's always something going on...

Prime Minister Stephen Harper to vote no for Palestinian statehood:

Prime Minister Stephen Harper has confirmed that Canada will vote against a motion to confer statehood on Palestine in a vote set for Thursday at the United Nations.

Harper says Canada favours a two-state solution in the Middle East which requires the Palestinian authority to return to the bargaining table for talks with Israel.

The prime minister says his government will not support any "shortcut," such as giving the Palestinians a declaration of statehood in advance of negotiations.

Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird is travelling to the UN in New York on Thursday to personally cast Canada's vote against the motion.

I do not believe that by giving them a state that it will ease whatever self-inflicted troubles they have, nor will it raise their status in the eyes of the Arab/Iranian Islamist interests in the region It may even be worse for the latter as a functioning Palestinian state will give them no leverage for whatever they want.

Before Obama finishes with Susan Rice and throws her under the bus, remember that a Youtube video was blamed for the attack in Benghazi that cost the lives of four Americans (possibly to hide a gun-running scheme). The Youtube video was the official narrative of the Obama administration for two weeks before it was pointed out that the attack was a deliberate one (one of al Qaeda terrorism, actually). I know the default position for Obama defenders and leftists of all stripes is to cry racism but when you insist for two weeks that some obscure video is the reason why four Americans are dead (that's J. Christopher Stevens, Sean Smith, Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods), someone IS going to call you on it later.

After being rude, insolent, patronising, vile and vicious, Obama has invited former presidential candidate Mitt Romney over for lunch so that HE may give his ideas on how not to ruin the country:

President Obama will meet privately with former Republican rival Mitt Romney at the White House Thursday, their first meeting since the election, the White House announced Tuesday.

The president and the former GOP nominee will meet for lunch in the private dining room, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney announced in a written statement.

Calling it now, Obama will NEVER allow a functioning America or Canada to exist, not while there is something he can do about it. He will claim, as he did during the election, that he tried.

If you had any fears about Big Oil, let this clarify things for you.

Statistics Canada confirms that 491 babies were left to die after a neither legal nor illegal procedure was performed:

Pro-life advocates are calling for a federal investigation after Canada’s official statistics agency has confirmed that 491 babies died after they were born alive during abortions between 2000 and 2009.

Statistics Canada confirmed the information in an e-mail to LifeSiteNews Tuesday. Pro-life blogger Patricia Maloney first discovered the data about the abortions in the federal agency’s online database

There is that slippery slope no one wants to mention.

I was saying something about this:

FOX News’ Todd Starnes reports that the school has reversed their original decision to prohibit the club from using the word “Christmas”:

“It’s a misunderstanding based on a legitimate mistake we made,” Atticus Simpson, vice president of student development at Western Piedmont Community College, told FOX News.

She added that the college “thought we were violating the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment by promoting the sale of Christmas trees — which we thought would be promoting one religion over another.”

The school has since restored the original wording to the group's event.

Oh, I'm sure it was a misunderstanding.

I want these stockings for Christmas.

In reality, hope is the worst of all evils, because it prolongs man's torments.  - Friedrich Nietzsche

“You shall have no other gods before me.
“You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing steadfast love to thousands of those who love me and keep my commandments.
“You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain.

Iran is planning to build a nuclear bomb with at least triple the force of the bomb that destroyed Hiroshima in World War II, diagrams obtained by the Associated Press indicates. According to AP, the diagrams were first discovered by International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) scientists after an inspection of an Iranian nuclear facility. The document was published by the AP Tuesday after, the news agency said, it was leaked by officials critical of the way the West has been handling the Iran issue.
The diagrams discovered by the IAEA show Iranian scientists calculating the desired "nuclear explosive yield" in a device they were apparently working on. IAEA inspectors described the diagrams in a report, and a senior official who is working with the Geneva-based UN organization confirmed that the diagrams obtained by AP were the same ones mentioned in the report.
The diagrams showed a scientific calculation of the expected yield of a nuclear device, with a maximum force of 50 kilotons, experts who saw the AP diagrams said. There was no possibility that the diagrams referred to a process other than construction of a nuclear weapon, the experts said.

If Iran is indeed designing a nuclear weapon with a 50 kiloton yield, it will be significantly stronger than the bombs that were dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan during World War II, which were only 15 kilotons powerful. Nuclear weapons held by the U.S., Russia, and other countries are significantly stronger than a bomb with a 50 kiloton yield.

Canada to oppose statehood for Hamas-controlled Palestinian Authority.

Marc Garneau decides to trump Trudeau's run for the leadership of the Liberal Party by being both a former astronaut AND divisive:

Under Prime Minister Stephen Harper, he said, " We have an angry, divisive, intolerant government," that practices the politics of exclusion. The government, he said, wraps itself in the flag, but fails veterans. It ignores scientific evidence, but, he said, he believes in a knowledge-based economy.

Editors at China’s top Communist Party newspaper have been left red faced after declaring North Korean leader Kim Jong Un the 'Sexiest Man Alive'.
The People’s Daily ran a series of striking photos of their neigbouring country’ s young leader to accompany news of the award – a hoax gong handed out by US satirical website The Onion.

'The Onion has named North Korean supreme leader Kim Jong Un as the sexiest man alive  for the year 2012,' declared the paper.

The award is a trademark hoax by the popular Onion website but the heavily tongue in cheek story failed to register a smirk with Chinese editors, who are keen to report positive stories about the hermit leader who runs China's fellow communist neighbours.

The event which occasioned these paeans to The Great Leader was the opening night of Red Dawn, a 1984 action-adventure thriller involving a Soviet invasion of the mainland United States that-much to the chagrin of the director of the original film-is being remade into a would-be blockbuster where the main antagonists are North Korean shock troops. Being a state-barely-where an economy  doesn’t exist and ICBMs are too poorly designed to reach the shores of the United States appears to have its advantages, at least from the perspective of a Hollywood film producer….
Whether the proclivity of newcomers to favor government management of the economy will translate into increased support for The Great, Dear, Omniscient Leader is a matter for future generations to decide, but the spirited crowd of approximately half a dozen devoted communists seemed to be solidly in the corner of Kim Jong-Un and opposed to the shameless political dwarfs behind the cinematic reincarnation of this motion picture.

Yeah, people are stupid.

A North Carolina community college has been accused of violating the First Amendment rights of students after they told a club they could not use the word “Christmas” to promote a Christmas tree sale.

What other holidays in December have nicely-decorated trees?

However

Take your "Happy Holidays" and shove it. Finally, there's proof that Americans prefer "Merry Christmas."
By a wide margin, 68 percent to 23 percent, Americans prefer stores with signs that say "Merry Christmas" during the Christmas holidays than the more generic and secular "Happy Holidays," according to a new Rasmussen Reports survey.
And in all 34 of the categories the accurate and prominent pollster looks at, "Merry Christmas" was the hands-down winner.
A few examples:
-- Among men, it's 69 percent for "Merry Christmas," compared to 22 percent for "Happy Holidays."
-- Women: 67 percent to 23 percent.
-- Whites: 69 percent to 20 percent.
-- Blacks: 56 percent to 40 percent.
-- Republicans: 86 percent to 8 percent.
-- Democrats: 51 percent to 41 percent.

Christmas- is there nothing it can’t do?

Friday Freakout

Time to get mellow...

Yeah, that's what we call it:

I want this necklace for Christmas.

Sometimes wolves need some understanding.

Friday Post

Justin Trudeau apologises after a fashion:

Liberal leadership candidate Justin Trudeau says he is sorry for comments he made in an interview two years ago that have Conservatives accusing him of an anti-Alberta bias.

Trudeau was forced to address the comments he made to the Tele-Quebec television program Les Francs-tireurs (The Straight Shooters) in 2010 after a Sun Media report republished them Thursday.

In the interview, Trudeau said Canada wasn't doing well because "it's Albertans who control our community and socio-democratic agenda."

The published comments have touched off a firestorm of reaction from Conservative MPs on Parliament Hill. Trudeau's leadership campaign issued a statement Thursday saying the Conservatives were taking the comments out of context.

On Friday, Trudeau offered an apology, but continued to argue his comments were being misinterpreted and that they were directed at the government of Stephen Harper and not Albertans in general.

There was nothing to misinterpret.

Alberta should know how to deal with those eastern...

Anyway...

It's not schadenfreude if it's spot-on:

The defeated GOP candidate famously disparaged Obama as the candidate of the 47 percent. Now, liberals gleefully view Mitt's final tally as poetic justice

Liberal schadenfreude is about to reach overdose levels. Just when you thought the dead horse of Mitt Romney's campaign had been beaten more than enough — and most savagely by members of his own party — Dave Wasserman at Cook Political Report projects that the final count of the popular vote, which is still ongoing, will show Romney winning 47 percent of the electorate. In addition to proving that Obama handily won the popular vote, the final tally makes Romney the official candidate of the 47 percent — a delicious irony, liberals say, given that Romney infamously claimed that Obama was the candidate of the 47 percent of Americans who "believe they are victims" and are "dependent on government."

While the gloaters still lick their lips, Obamacare is adding to the massive unemployment problem Mitt Romney tried to stress was a huge problem before the election. And you can bet the pre-foreclosed farm that the Hispanic voters want their payout. If I were Mitt Romney, I would take this time to be with my family and write my memoirs, ones that detail what it's like to run a business, especially when you don't have a murderer get in your way. Then, a couple of years into another disastrous administration, I'd make a appearance at an employment centre and ask the jobless how poverty is treating them, just to be a real....

Anyway...

Where the aid goes in North Korea:

Mercy Corps has been active in North Korea since 1996, when, according to David Austin, the group’s program director for the country, “a North Korean diplomat to the U.N. began reaching out to aid agencies requesting help with agricultural production, as there was a famine occurring in the country.” Since then, Mercy Corps has been deeply involved in North Korea, sending regular shipments of food, medicine, and plants. Earlier this year, it dispatched a large delivery of antibiotics and oral rehydration salts.

In a phone interview with The Weekly Standard, Austin described how Mercy Corps delivers its aid to North Korea. Actually, in point of fact, Austin described how Mercy Corps doesn’t deliver its aid to North Korea: Along with several other organizations, it simply ships the goods to a port in the country, where the Korean American Private Exchange Society, an arm of the North Korean foreign ministry, takes delivery and distributes them. Mercy Corps workers are not involved in the distribution. Instead, they are allowed periodic visits to the country to monitor the dispersal and use of the donated goods. But the itinerary is set long before the workers arrive in the country, and any changes have to be approved by officials. What’s more, the Mercy Corps workers are chaperoned by members of the North Korean foreign ministry and other officials the entire time they are in the country.

Austin concedes that North Korea is the only country in which Mercy Corps is not allowed to implement its own aid programs—only in North Korea does it simply trust the local regime to do what it says it will do. In every other country that it operates in, no matter how troubled—from Pakistan to Niger, from Burma to Colombia—Mercy Corps has permanent employees who oversee its aid programs. But not in North Korea—the regime won’t allow it. With the exception of infrequent, closely monitored visits, the Kim government has carte blanche to do what it sees fit with the aid. When asked about this stunning lack of oversight, Austin avers, “The [North Korean] government doesn’t take food away, to the best of our knowledge,” before quickly adding, “there’s no evidence of that.”

But Mercy Corps doesn’t stop at sending aid. It also periodically invites officials from the North Korean foreign ministry to the United States for junkets, shepherding them to Oregon State University, various national forests, and other sites. One such visit, of four North Korean officials, happened in March 2009, just as North Korea had outraged our allies in Seoul by announcing that it was going to test a long-range missile. A 2007 junket saw North Korean officials attending a Portland Trail Blazers game and touring Nike’s headquarters. According to Austin, these junkets are a “cultural courtesy,” extended to North Koreans because “we send Americans there.” In an interview posted on Mercy Corps’s website, Austin said that these tours show North Korean officials that “there are many similarities between our country and theirs.”

Yes, but North American governments don't deliberately starve their people.

(Merci beaucoup)

The War on Christmas Redux

It's because they suck, Charlie Brown:

Charlie Brown’s Christmas is on the outs at an elementary school in Little Rock, Ark. — at least among atheists who are calling foul over a planned student trip to see a stage production of the beloved Peanuts story.
The trouble began when students at Terry Elementary School brought home letters detailing the trip to see “A Charlie Brown Christmas” at a local church, according to a report from Arkansas’ KARK. A parent who had a problem with the play’s content notified the local atheist group of the field trip.
“We’re not saying anything bad about Charlie Brown,” Anne Orsi, vice president of the Arkansas Society of Freethinkers, told KARK. “The problem is that it’s got religious content and it’s being performed in a religious venue and that doesn’t just blur the line between church and state, it oversteps it entirely.”
A Charlie Brown Christmas” is about the title character’s struggle to overcome the holiday’s commercialism and embrace the true meaning of Christmas. The holiday classic culminates with the character Linus quoting from the second chapter of Luke.

For a Thursday

As it often happens...

Justin Trudeau is an idiot:

Liberal leadership candidate Justin Trudeau is having to explain comments he made about Albertans in 2010, one day after fellow Liberal MP David McGuinty resigned his critic role over pointed comments about Alberta Conservative MPs.

Sun Media published comments on Thursday that Trudeau made in a November 2010 interview in French on the Télé-Québec program Les Francs-tireurs (The Straight Shooters). In the interview, Trudeau seemed to take aim at Alberta politicians, and argued Canada was better off in the hands of leaders from Quebec.

"Canada isn't doing well right now because it's Albertans who control our community and socio-democratic agenda. It doesn't work," Trudeau told interviewer Patrick Lagacé.

When asked whether he thought Canada was "better served when there are more Quebecers in charge than Albertans," Trudeau replied, "I'm a Liberal, so of course I think so, yes. Certainly when we look at the great prime ministers of the 20th century, those that really stood the test of time, they were MPs from Quebec.... This country, Canada, it belongs to us."

Quebeckers ran Canada better than any Albertan (or Stephen Harper) could? Hhmmm....?

When Daddy Dearest was running Canada into the ground, it had an economy that only Uncle Fidel could envy.

Does anyone remember Ad-Scam or the Shawinigan Handshake?

Liberals. Can't live with them.....

Moving on....

The ever-classless Obama has six kinds of pie for Thanksgiving dessert while 42.2 million Americans are on food stamps.

It does not surprise us that U.N. This isn't the first time she has been clueless about and blind to the reality of terror.
As we mentioned in an earlier editorial about her possible appointment as secretary of state, "In 1996, while serving as assistant secretary of state for African affairs under former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, Rice helped persuade President Clinton to rebuff Sudan's offer to turn Osama bin Laden, who was then living there, over to U.S. authorities."

In an email to supporters of his grassroots group "Patriot Voices" Tuesday, the former Pennsylvania senator and Republican presidential candidate unveiled a "Made in the USA Christmas Challenge."

"We want you to ... buy as many Christmas and holiday presents as you can that are made right here in the U.S.," reads the email from Santorum and his wife, Karen. "As you hit the stores on Black Friday, be mindful of who's made what you're buying."

On the Patriot Voices website, supporters are urged to turn Black Friday into "Red White and Blue Friday."

Brilliant.

How many Americans are out-of-work? How many products are made in Asian sweatshops? How would it hurt to be conscientious?

The UN ignored Israel's pleas TWENTY times:

On at least 20 separate occasions this year, the Israeli government appealed to the UN to take action against Palestinian rocket attacks on Israeli civilians, in letters sent to Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and the President of the Security Council.

In these letters, Israel urged the United Nations to act against repeated rockets attacks from Gaza against Israeli civilians, and,  at a minimum, to speak out and condemn the  attacks.

Saudi Arabia tracks its women electronically:

Denied the right to travel without consent from their male guardians and banned from driving, women in Saudi Arabia are now monitored by an electronic system that tracks any cross-border movements.

Since last week, Saudi women’s male guardians began receiving text messages on their phones informing them when women under their custody leave the country, even if they are travelling together.

I'm waiting for the "war on women" and Slut Walk people to get involved. This kind of thing is right up their alley.

(thank you)

More violence in Nigeria:

Another attack on Christians in the predominately Muslim northern part of Nigeria. 18 dead, so far, including three children.

Part of the violence is being blamed on the radical Muslim sect Boko Haram, but it was just ordinary Muslim villagers who attacked their Christian neighbours (30 miles from Kano) in response to a trader who allegedly insulted their Prophet Mohammed. According to the police there were no deaths, although one witness, Sadiq Ahmed, claims there were four dead bodies in front of shops owned by Christians, torched shops and a church.

Officials believe Boko Haram is responsible for three separate attacks that have occurred this week in Maiduguri, northeast Nigeria. There has been no official count, and the 18 dead were reported by witnesses, which means there could be many more. The police might be reluctant to report more deaths in case it prompts retaliatory action by Christians.

And now, be thankful for some weird looking cakes.

Mid-Week Post

The sound of one hand clapping.

If one photo could not only answer the unjust indifference of the West to Israel’s constant plight but also capture what Israelis go through whenever its enemies attack, this photo of a mother covering her child during an air raid would be it:

Question: As the bombings go on, I want to address a specific issue: People have been receiving text messages urging them to evacuate their houses…

Hamas Interior Ministry Spokesperson: This is all part of the psychological warfare held by the Zionist enemy… So by using this way of communication, our public radio, I address all our Palestinian brothers by saying: Please do not listen to the orders noted on these text messages, their only purpose is spreading fear and panic within our people.

IDF spokeswoman Lt. Col. Avital Leibovich, claimed the missile strike was aimed at Hamas communications equipment located on the building's roof. She also also said Hamas is using journalists as "human shields," and warned reporters to stay away from all of the group's facilities.

"One of the strategies of Hamas, not only Hamas, but Islamic Jihad as well, is locating large amounts of munitions underneath civilian homes. Many times this is the reason for this big damage or collateral damage," Leibovich said.

However, it would appear that some of these journalists may be willingly putting themselves in a position to be used as a human shield, as sympathy among the left-leaning media for Hamas seems to be running high. …

Last week, Israeli forces discovered a Hamas rocket-launching site actually located about a half a block from a children's playground.

The site was taken out by a surgical air strike by Israeli war planes.

Hamas has fired nearly a thousand rockets into Israel in the last week, with the Israeli capital of Jerusalem having been targeted for the first time in decades.

On Thursday, three Israeli's were killed when a rocket fired from Gaza hit their apartment building in Jerusalem, one of those killed was a one-year-old child.

We can all stop feeling sorry for them now.

Dear Susan:

What does it matter whether the baby is Israeli or Palestinian? She was injured and perhaps died as a result of the overwhelming arrogance of Israeli PM Netanyahu who cynically wages war against defenceless Gazans to distract Israeli voters from their protests against austerity measures because he wants to be re-elected, who keeps the Gazans living in the world's largest prison camp under siege, and who refuses to respect truces with Hamas.

It matters, you con artist, for the following reasons: you lied about the identity of the child, who happened to be killed by the very people you are supporting, there is nothing cynical about protecting one’s country from a barrage of rockets fired by an Iranian-supported terrorist group whose thumb is forever on the sandbags known as Palestinians AND the Holocaust-tinged reference of Gaza as a prison camp would only make sense if those ethnic Jordanians could never leave and – let’s say- be citizens of Israel.

Israel and the Hamas terror group agreed to a cease-fire Wednesday to end eight days of the fiercest fighting in nearly four years, promising to halt attacks on each other and ease an Israeli blockade constricting the Gaza Strip.

This will not last, Obama will greatly reward the mad, theofascist state of Egypt and still try to screw Israel.

Moving on…

The US government led by you-know-who will soon have more access to your e-mails and digital files:

Revised bill highlights

Grants warrantless access to Americans' electronic correspondence to over 22 federal agencies. Only a subpoena is required, not a search warrant signed by a judge based on probable cause.
Permits state and local law enforcement to warrantlessly access Americans' correspondence stored on systems not offered "to the public," including university networks.
Authorizes any law enforcement agency to access accounts without a warrant -- or subsequent court review -- if they claim "emergency" situations exist.
Says providers "shall notify" law enforcement in advance of any plans to tell their customers that they've been the target of a warrant, order, or subpoena.
Delays notification of customers whose accounts have been accessed from 3 days to "10 business days." This notification can be postponed by up to 360 days.

The post-election rout in U.S. stocks has driven the Standard & Poor’s 500 Index down so far that it would have to advance 26 percent to reach the valuation of bull markets since John F. Kennedy was in the White House.

Investors have seen $806 billion erased from the value of American equities since President Barack Obama was re-elected Nov. 6 in the biggest decline since May. The combination of falling stocks and rising profits as the economy recovers has left the S&P 500’s price-earnings ratio below the ending level of eight of the nine bull markets since 1962 and beneath the average of any since Ronald Reagan was in power.

Bears say the 4.8 drop in the S&P 500 and valuations show investors are losing confidence that Congress and Obama will reach a budget compromise that would keep the recovery from stalling.

Bulls, including the top strategists at six Wall Street firms, say that the declines are another reason to buy and that stock prices from Apple Inc. to Dollar Tree Inc. are bound to improve as earnings increase.

A city with a beautiful name in California has now banned the display of a nativity scene this Christmas. A 58-year tradition is gone and with it, right to of the city’s residents to celebrate their faith.

The atheists’ excuse is that the nativity scene constitutes an “establishment of religion,” which the Constitution only forbids Congress from doing. But in a post-modern world in which the ends clearly justify even evil means and loud dishonesty trumps all, well, judges do whatever the hell they want and the majority of the American people really have no say in how our lives are run anymore.

Yet the town that can no longer show a nativity scene retains its name — Santa Monica. Saint Monica. How long before atheists sue to change it? And Los Angeles (“the angels)? And San Francisco (named after Saint Francis of Assisi)? And San Antonio (named for Saint Anthony)? And on and on and on and on.

The atheists had better get busy. They have an awful lot of Stalinist airbrushing to get done.

This is the left and they hate that someone, somewhere, is enjoying the birthday of sweet Baby Jesus.

Oh, hell! Just let Pat Condell rant. He hits the nail on the head with this one (after 1:38):

How he calls the number of the professionally offended and those who are deliberately ignorant and ungrateful to what the West has done for them and how Christmas and all its trappings are fun and a part of the Western cultural fabric. Make no mistake that the deliberate banning of Nativity scenes is not done out of some dishonest attempt to be inclusive but to give grist to the perpetually bitter, sad, little people unwilling to give a nod to the foundations of a culture that allows them to be pig-headed philistines who want to see children cry just so they can get back at dad.

Some of the comments are far too priceless (hat off to all):

Ontario Liberal MP David McGuinty apologized Wednesday and resigned his post as the party’s natural resources critic after he said Alberta MPs need to take a nationwide view of energy policies or go home.

Now he needs to go home.
