But don't take my word for it:
Our survey reveals that while Canadians feel these issues are very important, they don’t feel they are important to their governments. Sixty-eight per cent of Canadians say rising costs — including inflation and interest rates — are their biggest issue today. By contrast, only 28 per cent believe the federal government sees this issue as a top priority. In addition, 59 per cent of Canadians say health care is a top concern, but only 25 per cent think it’s where the federal government is primarily focused.
Governments say they are aware of Canadians’ concerns and are taking actions to address these. However, official responses seem to default to assessing problems instead of fixing them. Perhaps it is the nature of this government action that is giving rise to anger?

A Conservative MP yesterday was told to “watch the language” after accusing cabinet members of corrupt practices. MP Michael Barrett (Leeds-Grenville, Ont.) repeated his charge outside the Commons, then served notice of committee cross-examination for one minister caught rewarding a friend with sole-sourced contracts: “What is it going to take for one of these corrupt ministers to resign?”
Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland hosted a dinner party at her Toronto home with a former federal contractor, the Commons government operations committee learned yesterday. “She actually convened a dinner at her house,” testified Dominic Barton, now-retired managing director of McKinsey & Company, a global consulting firm: “I knew her from before. I did know her.”
Yes, about all of that:
UNEARTHED: @cafreeland talks about the deep personal relationship between herself, Dominic Barton, and @JustinTrudeau.

Barton was the managing partner at McKinsey. McKinsey got over $100 million in government contracts since Liberals took power. #cdnpoli pic.twitter.com/cPMbaaBERg

While we are asking questions about McKinsey and consulting, can we find out what a $150000 payment from Global Affairs Canada to Dominic Barton - the former Director of McKinsey and Canadian Ambassador to the PRC - listed under “Other Services” was for? https://t.co/fxkXO5BYo7 pic.twitter.com/247qhvksEQ

Moving on:
Do you think Guilbeault hasn’t read the PBO’s report? Or is Guilbeault intentionally misleading Canadians? I’m not sure which is worse.

PBO shows carbon tax will cost the average family hundreds more than they get back in rebates this year. https://t.co/pXL5xCSdu8
Maybe he's just stupid and isn't putting the brakes on his tyrant moves:
Liberal MPs pushing back against a key component of C-13, the official languages bill — after the Liberal government abruptly reversed course on a controversial gun ban and delayed expansion of medically assisted dying — has observers questioning whether Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is losing control over his caucus.
The country is broke.
News that the City of New York is providing free bus tickets to migrants heading north to claim asylum in Canada highlights an urgent need to address the situation at the border, Quebec’s immigration minister said Monday.
Speaking to reporters in Montreal, Christine Frechette called the report “surprising.” She said Ottawa needs to “solve the problem of Roxham Road,” which is an unofficial border crossing south of Montreal used by tens of thousands of people last year to claim asylum.
Border Patrol agents in New York, Vermont and New Hampshire apprehended more people illegally entering the US from Canada in the past three months than in the previous two years combined, authorities say.
Officials in the states, which make up the federal agency’s eastern “Swanton Sector,” saw a 743% increase in apprehensions and encounters between Oct. 1 and Dec. 31 compared to the same period in 2021, sector chief, Robert Garcia said last week in a press release.
In December, a record 441 people were detained by US Border Patrol and Customs at the Canadian border in the region after flying to Canada from at least 19 countries, according to The Center Square. Fourteen others abandoned their illicit journey to America, and at least 135 foreign nationals evaded authorities and are now in the US illegally, officials told the outlet.
Further west, the influx at the US’s frigid northern border was tragically illustrated Jan. 19, when two adults, a teen and and an infant from India were found frozen to death in a vehicle 40 feet from the border in North Dakota.
Aren't things working out in New York?
In other news, Yazidis beg the Liberals not let ISIS rapists into the country:
The looming return of alleged ISIS members to Canada has brought trauma, worry and fear to people who were invited to Canada as a safe haven after the terrorist group all but destroyed their ancient community in northern Iraq.
"When I first heard the news, I felt the strength leave my body," Huda Ilyas Alhamad told CBC News in her Winnipeg apartment. She is one of 1,200 survivors of the Yazidi genocide who were resettled in Canada; she spent years as a slave of ISIS members.
"I had to sit down right away. I was heartbroken and terrified at the same time because on one hand they had promised to protect us and bring us here and give us safety, and on the other hand they're offering that same entryway for these very people who raped and tortured us on a daily basis."
The Yazidis are members of an ancient Kurdish-speaking farming community in northern Iraq who practice their own monotheistic religion. They were victims of one of the worst atrocities of the 21st century at the hands of the Islamic fundamentalist terror group, which set out to eradicate the Yazidi people in a brutal campaign launched on August 3, 2014.

A year after former B.C. gangster Jimi Sandhu was shot to death in Thailand, no details have been released by any Canadian agency about how the 32-year-old obtained a legitimate passport with his photo beside a fake name.
Someone submitted a mail-in application for the passport in 2020 and it was issued out of Saskatoon on Jan. 28, 2021 — five years after the United Nations gangster was deported from Canada to his native India for serious criminality.
Why would Canadians get the idea that their country is broken?
