As one can see:
An Ottawa police liaison officer testifying in the trial of Chris Barber and Tamara Lich agreed today that none of the protesters he communicated with indicated they were participating in the "Freedom Convoy" because they were influenced by the high-profile organizers.
Bull. Sh--.
Having locked down an economy, forbade children to go to schools, destroyed businesses, harassed ordinary citizenry, made people stand in breadlines in the cold, fired people for refusing to be injected with an untested substance and then attacked as intolerable (oh, hi, Justin), it wouldn't take a charismatic leader to convince anyone to wave around a placard.
The Liberal government sat STUNNED that the Canadian public took it upon themselves to protest the government's fascist and nonsensical policies, a move which then saw the "science change" and the wearing of masks no longer enforced.
(Sidebar: it's funny what a convoy can achieve.)
The convoy was Canada's Prague Spring.
The Liberals will never forgive the Canadian people for it.
After refusing comment for more than a week, the federal government now says a $150 million loss for “unfulfilled contract” is linked to a deal with failed COVID-19 vaccine-maker Medicago.
In a statement to National Post Friday, the press secretary for Health Minister Mark Holland, Chris Aoun, said the government made a $150 million non-refundable advance payment to Quebec-based Medicago early in the pandemic to fund development and reserve a number of doses of its eventual COVID-19 vaccine. Back in 2020, the federal government inked a deal to buy up to 76 million vaccine doses in addition to another $173 million investment to both help develop homegrown COVID-19 vaccine and expand its manufacturing facility in Quebec City. The “advance purchase agreement” was one of seven the government signed early in the pandemic with vaccine manufacturers to secure vaccine doses as soon as they were ready. At the time, it was not known which, if any, of the vaccines would pass Health Canada’ approval process (most of them did). But the contract with Medicago never panned out and the company cancelled the vaccine’s Health Canada authorization after the World Health Organization refused to accept its vaccine for emergency use due in 2022 because it was partly owned by tobacco giant Philip Morris International. Then in February, the company’s owner Mitsubishi Chemical Group announced it was shutting the company down in light of “significant changes” to the vaccine market three years into the pandemic.Aoun said that Medicago met all the terms for the $150 million non-refundable advance payment but that the contract was eventually terminated “by mutual consent” and that “Medicago was released of its obligations” in the advance contract.Aoun said he was disclosing the information with the company’s consent. The disclosure comes over one week after National Post began asking questions to the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) about a $150 million loss due to an “unfulfilled contract by a vendor” declared in the 2022-2023 government public accounts. But until Friday, PHAC refused to disclose any information whatsoever on the loss, such as the identity of the vendor, the nature of the deal and the product or service that was not received.A spokesperson repeatedly said all that information was covered by a confidentiality agreement and to reveal any information would expose the government to legal action. After National Post published a story Thursday on the “highly unusual” stonewalling by PHAC, the Conservatives and Bloc Québécois published a letter demanding the House Health committee hold an “emergency” meeting to address the “egregious abuse of taxpayer money.”
Also:
The judge overseeing the criminal trial of two people charged with organizing the Freedom Convoy is unredacting internal police documents to be used in court.
On Friday, Justice Heather Perkins-McVey ordered information — contained in an email police had redacted entirely for solicitor-client privilege — to be partially disclosed to the defence.
She's allowing some of the statements and opinions made by officers in those emails to be shared with Tamara Lich and Chris Barber's lawyers.
Wherever did this virus come from?:
Former National Institutes of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Director Dr. Anthony Fauci oversaw the NIH's Rocky Mountain Laboratories in Montana when it did the research with bats from Maryland's Catoctin Wildlife Preserve, whose Director of Animal Health Laurie Hahn is a former NIH "lead veterinary technician" for animal research.
The Viruses paper, authored by Montana lab researchers and Wuhan Institute of Virology collaborator Ralph Baric, of the University of North Carolina, determined that the "SARS-like WIV1-coronavirus" first isolated from Chinese rufous horseshoe bats could not cause a "robust infection" in the 12 Egyptian fruit bats from the zoo. Four were euthanized and tested.
Let's confirm with that bastion of MAGA white supremacy, Japan:
Japanese researchers have found that all variants of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes Covid, were in fact made in a laboratory.
The study, led by Japanese professors Atsuki Tanaka and Takayuki Miyazawa of Osaka Medical University and Kyoto University, sought to trace the historical evolution of the omicron variant of the virus.
To trace the variant’s origins, Tanaka and Miyazawa wrote in a new paper titled “Unnaturalness in the Evolution Process of the SARS-CoV-2 variants and the possibility of deliberate natural selection”, they studied viral sequences found “in the wild” and deposited in public databases.
The researchers said they found around 100 separate omicron subvariants that could not conceivably have arisen through natural processes.
The existence of these variants seems to provide definitive proof of large-scale lab creation of Covid viruses, Tanaka and Miyazawa wrote.
Tanaka and Miyazawa state in the paper:
“Over the past three years, severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) has repeatedly caused pandemics, generating various mutated variants ranging from Alpha to Omicron. In this study, we aimed to clarify the evolutionary processes leading to the formation of SARS-CoV-2 Omicron variants, focusing on Omicron variants with many amino acid mutations in the spike protein among SARS-CoV-2 isolates.
“To determine the order of mutations leading to the formation of the SARS-CoV-2 Omicron variants, we compared the sequences of 129 Omicron BA.1-related, 141 BA.1.1-related, and 122 BA.2-related isolates, and attempted to clarify the evolutionary processes of SARS-CoV-2 Omicron variants, including the order of mutations leading to their formation and the occurrence of homologous recombination.
“As a result, we concluded that the formation of a part of Omicron isolates BA.1, BA.1.1, and BA.2 was not the product of genome evolution, as is commonly observed in nature, such as the accumulation of mutations and homologous recombinations. Furthermore, the study of 35 recombinant isolates of Omicron variants BA.1 and BA.2 confirmed that Omicron variants were already present in 2020.
“The analysis showed that Omicron variants were formed by an entirely new mechanism that cannot be explained by previous biology, and knowing how the SARS-CoV-2 variants were formed prompts a reconsideration of the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic.”
