No Country For Anyone

Insanity, moral dissonance, political convenience?

YOU decide:

On July 30th 2025, Canada’s Prime Minister, Mark Carney, declared that “the peaceful co-existence of Israeli and Palestinian states [is] the only roadmap for a secure and prosperous future” and confirmed that “Canada will recognize a Palestinian state” at the upcoming UN General Assembly in September.

Unfortunately, despite the fact that his decision is unequivocally appalling to any defenders of democracy, human rights, and The Good, Carney’s recent comments are not at all surprising or even unexpected.

In fact, Carney’s commitment to reward Hamas’ terrorism and recognize a Palestinian state is merely the most recent abhorrent manifestation of the open antisemitism and disdain for the state of Israel that has inhabited the Liberal Party for nearly a decade.

Firstly, since 2015, the Liberal government has openly refused to confront and prosecute antisemitic hate-crime in any capacity, and as a result, antisemitic hate crime has been permitted to become endemic throughout Canada.

For example, antisemitic hate-crime in Canada has skyrocketed by 670% since 2023, and, throughout 2024, Canadian society was forced to endure a record 6219 antisemitic incidents, or 17 outpourings of Jew-hatred per day. Sadly, the Integrated Terrorism Assessment Centre (ITAC) has even been forced to warn the Canadian government that Canada will likely “experience a lone-wolf terror attack soon…and antisemitism [will] overwhelmingly [be] the motivating factor.”

Furthermore, since 2022, violent antisemitic hate-crime in particular has increased by 208% and 80% of Jews in Canada are now “concerned about antisemitism in their communities.” In addition, since October 7th 2023, countless violent pro-Palestinian protests and rioters have been permitted to invade Jewish communities and attack innocent Jewish people under the guise of ‘political protest’.

In fact, in 2024, Anthony Housefather, a Jewish Member of Parliament (MP), nearly abandoned the Liberal Party altogether, as a result of the Liberal government’s anti-Israel policies and utter unwillingness to confront antisemitism in Canada post-October 7th.

(Sidebar: this complete failure of a human being.)

Moreover, various Liberal politicians and allies have issued violently antisemitic statements and openly exposed themselves as happy bedmates of Hamas and other Palestinian terrorist organizations, such as the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP).

For instance, former Liberal MP, Bill Casey, ghoulishly opined that it is not at all antisemitic or “uncommon for Jews around the world now to be shown scorn and disrespect…in the hope that the message will reach the Netanyahu government that what the Israel government is doing in Gaza is unacceptable.”

Furthermore, Canada’s current Minister of Foreign Affairs, Anita Anand recently absolved Hamas of any guilt and declared that “Over 50,000 people have died as a result of the aggression caused against the Palestinians and the Gazan people in Palestine.” In addition, one of the Liberal Party of Canada’s most outspoken MPs, Jenica Atwin, previously proclaimed “I stand with Palestine! There are no two sides to this conflict, only human rights abuses! #EndApartheid,” before the Liberal Party warmly enveloped her within its macabre embrace.

In fact, Prime Minister Carney himself has declared that he is somehow ‘aware’ of Israel’s nonexistent genocide in Palestine, and he has explicitly condemned Israel alone for “the rapidly deteriorating humanitarian disaster in Gaza.” Even Canada’s previous Liberal Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, has variously claimed that, since October 7th, the state of Israel has indulged in “…the killing of women and children, of babies” and that “the price of justice cannot be the continued suffering of all Palestinian civilians.”

Finally, since 2015, the Liberal government has supported and ratified various policies that aid and abet a cohort of explicitly anti-Israel organizations and political actors who openly participate in the terrorization of the Jewish community and the nation of Israel.

Prime Minister Mark Carney yesterday made diplomatic history with Parliament in summer recess by announcing recognition of Palestine as a country. MPs including members of the Liberal caucus voted down an identical proposal in 2024: “I am speaking for Canada now.”

No, Carney, you are speaking for yourself, you carpet-bagging moron.

Carney described Abbas as key to “Canada’s intention to recognize the State of Palestine at the … United Nations General Assembly in September 2025.”

The PM said this “is predicated on the Palestinian Authority’s commitment to much-needed reforms, including the commitments by Palestinian Authority President Abbas to fundamentally reform its governance, to hold general elections in 2026 in which Hamas can play no part, and to demilitarize the Palestinian state,” adding he “welcomed President Abbas’ commitment to these reforms.”

Abbas is an 89-year-old Palestinian leader accused of antisemitism and Holocaust denial, who has been in power for 20 years.

This Holocaust

A panel survey commissioned by the Association of Canadian Studies and conducted by the polling firm Leger last spring found 18 per cent of Canadians between 18 and 24 years old agreed with the statement “I think the Holocaust was exaggerated.”

Among Canadians between 25 and 34 years old, 15 per cent agreed with that statement.

The survey queried 1,519 Canadians between May 17 and May 20, 2024. A margin of error cannot be assigned to panel surveys.

A Leger poll conducted in February 2024, that asked the same question, found 16 per cent of 18 to 24 year olds agreed with the statement as did eight per cent of 25 to 34 year olds.

The number of Canadians between 35 to 44 years old agreeing with that statement increased from five to eight per cent between the February and May surveys, while the number in the 45 to 54 age cohort increased from four to 11 per cent.

A delegation of Israeli soldiers visiting the Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum have been ordered to remove national flags during an annual ceremony.

In what is believed to be the first time such an order has occurred at the event, the “humiliating” incident was blamed on “antisemitism and an attempt to reshape the historical narrative” by a member of the delegation.

The group of 180 Israel Defence Forces (IDF) personnel and security officers were visiting as part of the long-standing Witnesses in Uniform programme, which aims to uphold the memory of the Holocaust through exposure to historic sites.

It took place at the site of the former extermination camp run by Nazi Germany. Some 1.1. million people, primarily Jews but also Poles, Roma and Sinti and Soviet prisoners of war were murdered at the camp close to what is now the Polish city of Oswiecim.

As the delegation prepared to march into the camp carrying the flags, a security officer is said to have intervened and demanded that they be taken down.

“We were ready for the ceremony, marching in formation with flags, accompanied by a trumpet, as is customary,” one participant, identified only as B, told Ynet, an Israeli news outlet.

“At the notorious gate, the Polish officer stopped the front line and demanded we not enter with flags. Both the local Polish staff and our senior officers argued, but to no avail.”

France has suspended its programme for receiving Palestinians fleeing Gaza.

The freeze will be in place while authorities investigate a Palestinian student in France who has been accused of making antisemitic remarks online, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot has said.

The 25-year-old woman was on a scholarship in northern France's city of Lille and will have to leave the country after her university withdrew her accreditation.

France has helped more than 500 people leave Gaza since the war between Israel and Hamas broke out following the 7 October 2023 attacks.

But I thought that giving them a state would fix all of that

Un-god-dang-believable:

Hamas says it will not disarm unless an independent Palestinian state is established with Jerusalem as its capital.

The statement, which reasserts a long-held demand by the group, seemingly came in response to a declaration by the Arab League last week that called for Hamas to lay down its weapons and release all remaining hostages. On Tuesday, the 22 member nations called for Hamas to relinquish control of Gaza and hand it over to the Palestinian Authority, which rules the West Bank.

After comments from Steve Witkoff, the US’s envoy to the Middle East, claiming that Hamas was willing to disarm, the militant group said: “Armed resistance … cannot be relinquished except through the full restoration of our national rights, foremost among them the establishment of an independent, fully sovereign Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.”

But I thought that they only wanted a small patch of land on which to grow turnips.

Speaking of turnips:

  • U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee shared photos on X of the aid waiting to be distributed, saying that there is "enough food to feed all of Gaza but it sits rotting! UN is a tool of Hamas! US based GHF is actually delivering food FOR FREE and SAFELY. UN food is either looted by Hamas or rots in the sun!"

  • According to U.S.-based Foundation for the Defense of Democracies, the U.N. aid mechanism has allowed Hamas to hijack and hoard the aid for many months during the war, with the terrorist organization making hundreds of millions of dollars selling the supplies on the secondary market while ordinary Gazans go hungry.

  • The introduction of Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), however, managed to bypass this mechanism, depriving Hamas of its funds, Enia Krivine, the senior director of FDD's Israel Program and National Security Network, said on the FDD website on Thursday.

  • "Hamas understands that if it doesn't regain control of the aid economy in Gaza, its days of ruling the enclave will be over. By refusing to work with GHF, the United Nations is shamefully throwing a lifeline to Hamas," Krivine added.

  • "So now we're down to the final hostages, and they know what happens after you get the final hostages. And basically because of that, they really didn't want to make a deal" – US President Donald J. Trump, July 25, 2025.
