Mid-Week Post

In twenty-one days, it will be Halloween…

This is a countdown the students of McKay Public School in Port Colborne, Ontario will have to not heed:

An Ontario school that feels Halloween is too exclusive an event has cancelled its holiday celebrations and replaced them with the toned down, more inclusive Spirit Day.

The Welland Tribune reported Port Colborne's McKay Public School told parents last week that children in costumes were not welcome and instead recommended they wear black and orange clothing.

A Halloween dance was also cancelled, which angered some parents who felt their children were missing out on something really special. The Tribute reports that another school in St. Catharines, Ont., has also cut back on Halloween costumes.

I’d rather the entire holiday of Halloween be cancelled than to have some awful mockery of it in its place. Once more, political correctness (read: one-on-one communism, puritanism, party-pooping) has removed the entire cerebral system and spinal column of the lesser members of the human race. Yes- lesser members because if you think banning a children’s event or reinventing it for no other reason than the flimsy masquerade of “inclusion” is a clever move then you are lesser human being.

So, kids of McKay Public School, show up in a costume on Halloween and don’t forget to wish everyone a Merry Christmas in December.

The performance of the White House Press Corps during President Obama's Tuesday afternoon briefing resulted in not a single question that seriously challenged the president or even made him uncomfortable.

For the record, I called this.

The United States is leaning toward withholding most military aid to Egypt except to promote counterterrorism, security in the Sinai Peninsula that borders Israel, and other such priorities, a U.S. official said on Tuesday.

The official said U.S. President Barack Obama had not made a final decision on the issue, which has vexed U.S. officials as they balance a desire to be seen promoting democracy and rights with a desire to keep up some cooperation with Egypt's military.

I think it wouldn’t be hard for Obama to sign off on complete withdrawal of military aid to Egypt if he imagines the Egyptians are WWII vets.

Bolton dismissed the proposal as a ploy to allow Iran to reach the threshold of a nuclear weapon, which it could cross at will. In an exclusive interview with Breitbart News in New York, he said: "This Iran deal is complete bullshit. Pure propaganda. The time it takes to go from 20% enrichment to full weaponization is two weeks. They are not supposed to do any enrichment, but Obama already conceded that."

The core of Francis' argument is that faced with the threat of the growing economic strength of the BRICS (notably Russia and China, who have significant interests in Canada's Arctic regions), plus the security problems along the long U.S.-Canada border, the two countries should pair up. Canada would be able militarily and economically to  defend its Arctic regions, and the two countries would be able to team up to exploit Canada's vast resources.

Has Mrs. Francis seen the US lately? It's a mess. You can thank the guy who was in the White House for the past four years (and he certainly doesn't appreciate our oil or natural and inner beauty). Why would Canada want to merge with it? Besides, the graying populations of both Russia and China will ultimately weaken their positions in the world.

We must bide our time.

“Someone needs to be held accountable and responsible for that, someone’s head needs to roll – and someone needs to be fired and I would suggest it be Kathleen Wynne that’s fired,” MacLeod said Tuesday, following the release of the auditor general’s report into the costs of cancelling a gas plant in Oakville.

The City of Toronto is investigating a controversial publicly-funded mural which critics say promotes a holy war against non-Muslims.

A Russian court denied bail on Tuesday to three of 30 people arrested on piracy charges following a protest by environmental group Greenpeace against offshore oil drilling in the Arctic.

All 30 face up to 15 years in jail if convicted for the protest in which a Greenpeace ship approached an oil platform owned by Gazprom, and have appealed against keeping them in custody through late November for further investigation.

Since October is Down Syndrome Awareness Month, Jane Brody wrote a piece for the New York Times detailing advancements in prenatal testing. And while I’ve spoken multiple times about not blaming prenatal testing for the disgustingly high Down syndrome abortion rate, the two will seemingly always be linked. Brody’s article serves as a perfect case in point: she starts off her piece lamenting that a friend of hers was not given the choice to abort her child with Down syndrome.

This is why people like that are pro-abortion, not "pro-choice".

And now, scary cat stories. Enjoy.

Monday Post

Quickly now...

If Sri Lanka is objectionable, surely China is, too:

It's a little unusual for Canada to take a stand alone on international policy, but that's exactly what Stephen Harper has done by choosing to boycott next month's Commonwealth summit in Sri Lanka.

"Canada is deeply concerned about the situation in Sri Lanka. The absence of accountability for the serious violations of human rights and international humanitarian standards during and after the civil war is unacceptable," Harper said in a statement.

Half calorie of principles. Let's go the whole nine yards.

Is there a UN lackey willing to investigate this?

As the showcase capital of Pyongyang, with its many amusement parks, looming bronze statuary and countless marble-laden pavilions so amply demonstrates, North Korea has a tradition of diving into lavish, monumental projects, no matter their relevance to larger economic conundrums such as producing reliable electricity or adequate food.

But why a luxury ski resort?

With South Korea set to host the 2018 Winter Olympics, there is little doubt Pyongyang felt it had to do something lest it be outdone yet again by its prosperous southern brethren
.

Kenneth Bae is still a prisoner and what of Camp 22?

Who was it who refused to negotiate with the Republicans, shut down the government, closed national parks and Amber Alerts?

Who was that again?

Cut Pakistan off:

A bomb exploded next to a van carrying Pakistani security guards tasked with protecting workers involved in an anti-polio drive in the country's northwest on Monday, killing two people, according to officials.

And now, Halloween costumes that are just awesome.

Some Stuff For A Saturday

Some stuff for a Saturday...

Nowhere in this article did I see mentioned how Obama supporter and keystone pipeline opponent Tom Steyer made his billions of dollars from gas and oil:

An anti-Keystone XL pipeline crusader has written to Prime Minister Stephen Harper, suggesting Canada's aggressive lobbying for the project played a part in the ongoing government shutdown south of the border.

Tom Steyer, a San Francisco billionaire who's also a major Democratic party fundraiser, chastises Harper for saying he would not "take 'no' for an answer" from U.S. President Barack Obama on TransCanada's Keystone XL.

In a question-and-answer session with the Canadian American Business Council last week in New York, Harper took a hard line on how Canada would respond if the Keystone XL project is rejected by the White House.

"My view is you don't take 'no' for an answer," Harper said. "This won't be final until it's approved and we will keep pushing forward."

Steyer took issue with those comments in his letter to the prime minister.

"Have your government, your government’s lobbyist and/or agents representing TransCanada communicated with House Republicans about including Keystone in the original litany of demands put to President Obama?" Steyer asks in the letter to Harper sent Friday.
**

But green is a new shade for Steyer.

Breitbart News reported that the hedge fund executive who founded Farallon Capital Management has aggressively worked both sides of the energy field.

In 2008, Farallon heavily invested in Adaro, Indonesia’s second-largest coal company. Indonesia is the world’s largest exporter of thermal coal and, according to Reuters, China is Adaro’s biggest customer.

Steyer’s firm held additional stock in “dirty coal” and nuclear plants, oil and gas companies in Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana, Breitbart said.

Steyer left Farrallon in 2012 and now fashions himself as an environmentalist. Today, he rabidly opposes the Keystone XL Pipeline and is a leader of the anti-coal movement.

In an interview with The Hill last April, Steyer vowed to “destroy” candidates who support coal and oil.
**

Halcon Resources was once called Ram Energy Resources, Inc. Steyer and his colleagues at Farallon gambled on Ram’s bankruptcy in an investment strategy resembling the EOTT play. In November of 2005 Farallon scooped up Ram Energy Resources, Inc. shares as the company entered bankruptcy, paying about $5.50 per share. Multiple Farallon Funds were used to buy about 12.9% of the company. Once again Tom Steyer was listed as a “beneficial owner” and “managing member.” Today Farallon owns about 1.7 million shares of Halcon Resources, a $12.5 million stake. Halcon Resources today drills for oil and gas in North Dakota, Montana, east Texas, Ohio, Pennsylvania, utilizing, among other methods, hydraulic fracturing, or “fracking,” as it is commonly known. Halcon transports its oil and gas to refineries via Shell Oil and Sunoco pipelines that cross parts of the United States.

I'm sure that's just a little oversight (one of many) on the article writer's part.

Carry on.

Who refused to negotiate with the Republicans causing a massive shutdown of the wasteful government and then, out of pure spite, shut down open-air memorials for war veterans and now Mount Rushmore and has forbidden military chaplains from saying Mass?

In a stunning development, some military priests are facing arrest if they celebrate mass or practice their faith on military bases during the federal government shutdown.

“With the government shutdown, many [government service] and contract priests who minister to Catholics on military bases worldwide are not permitted to work – not even to volunteer,” wrote John Schlageter, the general counsel for the Archdiocese for the Military Services USA, in an op-ed this week. “During the shutdown, it is illegal for them to minister on base and they risk being arrested if they attempt to do so.”

As Saint Thomas More said before his martyrdom as a sectarian whistle-blower:

"I die the King's good servant, and God's first."

Military chaplains must serve God first, not the tyrannical and raving King George Obama. Indeed, the entirety of the American citizenry should tell Obama to go f tuck himself in and then attend Mass and the national sites their tax dollars paid for. Screw that guy in the White House. He never cared for them, anyway.

Over at the Fur: cut Pakistan off; we don't need to send it money, British imams and OISE are birds-of-a-feather, the "brave" Palestinians shoot a nine year old girl, the savagery of communism and why it is not taught in schools or anywhere else for that matter, problems with the UK's plan to allow three parents, millions in charity donations being given to terrorists, somebody push this "White Widow" chick down a flight of stairs, and note how more people are angry at Harper than at, oh, let's say, the people who commit crimes against humanity.

And now, some fun.

This is an actual game (hat tip: these lovely guys here). Replace ONE word in a movie title with the word BACON. Par exemple: "Star Trek Into Darkness" = "Star Trek Into Bacon". Have at it.

And:

Reading fine literature improves your social life.

Mid-Week Post

Twenty-eight days until Halloween...

Despite Obama's best efforts, the US has not crumbled to dust. I guess there's life in the old girl yet.

Aging has-beens want to neuter the Canadian national anthem:

Margaret Atwood, Kim Campbell and a number of prominent Canadian women say it's time to change Canada's sexist national anthem.

Do you know what anthem is gender-neutral? "The Star-Spangled Banner".

De-fund this damn thing already.

Now, British people who make sense:

Islam is not a pacifist religion. Its founder was not a Quaker. People like to make comparisons at this point, so one might as well join in. Allow me to put it at its clearest: The history of Christianity has been quite bloody already. But it would have been far bloodier still if, rather than telling his followers to love their neighbour, Jesus had ordered them to "slay the infidel wherever you find them," as the Koran directs Muslims to do. What if Jesus, rather than telling his followers to "turn the other cheek," had -- as Mohammed did -- slayed and beheaded his enemies personally?
**
Next time that Harry Reid implies that trying to limit the largest government in the history of the world by a percentage point or two is equivalent to ushering in the chaos and iniquity of the Thunderdome, conservatives would benefit from pulling out a calculator and a dictionary and ripping the claim calmly and thoroughly to shreds — while leaving their indignation safely at home, where it belongs.

For this common sense to go down even easier, imagine them reading their articles to you in their posh British accents.

(Merci)

If you have to actually educate adults about this, the battle has already been lost:

Don't leave footprints on toilet seats or pee in pools and always trim your nose hairs when travelling abroad, the Chinese government has advised its citizens in a new Guidebook for Civilised Tourism....

The rules, published before a week-long holiday marking the communist take-over in 1949, include drawings that illustrate improper behaviour, such as picking one's nose and stealing life jackets from airplanes. Some advice is specific to various countries: the guidebook says not to buy stones in Scotland or snap fingers to beckon people in Germany, according to the Telegraph.

China has issued similar guidelines before imploring its citizens to be "civilized" abroad by ensuring they don't spit, litter, vandalize or jay-walk, among other impolite conduct. The last set of guidelines issued in May came after a 15-year-old boy caused international outrage by carving the words "Ding Jinhao paid a visit here" onto the wall of a 3,500-year-old Egyptian temple.

And now, chalkboard word search pumpkins for your Halloween fun needs.

Blame Obama

Who has consistently missed budget deadlines, therefore, not passed a budget?

Obama.

Who has added 6 trillion dollars (USD) to the national debt?

Obama.

Who presides over a now 7.3% unemployment rate?

Obama.

Whose holidays cost anywhere from four million dollars to 7.6 million dollars US?

Obama.

Whose imposed healthcare tax is unpopular with small business owners because of rising costs and taxes, has caused employers to drop employees' spouses, has caused hospital staff layoffs, has raised premiums, will make it more difficult for special-needs children to attend special schools or obtain necessary medical devices and added a tax to medical devices?

Obama.

Who refused to negotiate with the Republicans?

Obama:

Who closed off an open-air war memorial to the Greatest Generation (which the RNC paid to keep available), a Korean War memorial, national parks, services and features like the Claude Moore Colonial Farm (even forcing volunteers off the premises) and the Liberty Bell?

Obama.

And, yes, he promised this would hurt.

The President Who Stole Christmas

Political Prisoners

Sunday, September 29, 2013

Um, About That...

I'm not judging anyone nor am I angry. I'm just saying the usual colour of pumpkins is orange.

Unless this is a new Halloween fad. That's fine, too.

I would just like to know.

Pre-Conditions

So goes Syria, so goes Iran:

President Barack Obama announced Friday that he had spoken by telephone with Iran's president Hasan Rouhani — the first direct conversation between leaders of both countries since Iran's Islamic revolution in 1979.

In hastily arranged remarks in the White House briefing room to announce the breakthrough, Obama also sharply scolded congressional Republicans demanding that he agree to roll back Obamacare in return for avoiding a government shutdown or raising America’s debt limit.

“That’s not going to happen,” the president declared. “Do not threaten to burn the house down simply because you haven’t gotten one hundred percent of your way.”

(Sidebar: so says Tantrum Boy)

It is no accident or coincidence that Iran contacts the very man who promised to meet with Iranian leaders without pre-conditions and who after student uprisings in 2009 did nothing. If Iran was truly interested in peace, would it have contacted the US before Russia spiked the ball for Syria? That rotten meat stench one smells is the US' foreign policy.

Rouhani is no fool nor is he a reformer.

Watch another Obama flop in the making.
