You Know, The Chinese Do Something Similar

To wit:

China’s ruling Communist Party has carried out a widespread crackdown on all religious institutions in recent years, including bulldozing churches and mosques, barring Tibetan children from Buddhist religious studies and incarcerating more than a million members of Islamic ethnic minorities in what are termed “re-education centers.” President Xi Jinping , who is also party leader, has ordered that all religions must “Sinicize” to ensure they are loyal to the officially atheistic party or face the wrath of the Communist regime.

Now, in China's Canada (just the way Justin likes it!), policy repeats itself:

This fence:

Did you read that? The good Germans (and the Twitter thread is full of them) helped the police re-install a fence for an establishment that had only two cases of COVID-19 (and was certainly not a virus hot-spot the way, let's say, India or Pearson International Airport are).

To be clear, the fencing off of the Grace Life Church was not because it was a proven source of the virus China spread around the world but because the pastor, James Coates, called the province out on its crap.

If masks, hand sanitisers and lockdowns worked, why do we still have them?

Why weren't rapid and then more thorough tests administered en masse last year? Why are people still waiting for them?

Oh, yes - bureaucracy: the bastion of a weak-willed, incurious and emotionally-stunted population that doesn't even think to question the entire fiasco from the beginning.

Does anyone still trust the flu shots that are in short supply in this country?

Australia is one of the many countries that has rejected the Astra Zeneca vaccine.

Is it a haven of religious bigotry, white supremacy and anti-vaccination sentiment?

Or - dare one suggest? - is it a country that has examined the evidence and found the vaccine too dangerous to administer?

Who else are the "bad guys" in all of this? People in Quebec? People who point out (as of this writing) that there are only four people in the ICU in the Waterloo region (out of 600,000)? Or maybe the people who question the total pig sh-- of businesses rebounding in regions were businesses are permanently shuttered? I can only imagine the fainting spells about pursuing the causes of this Chinese-spread virus.

Yes, reality is hard, calloused figure. It must be why people hide in Twitter echo chambers.

Oh, look! A Twitter warrior:

Well, okay.

According to the website the province of Alberta put out to document COVID-19, as of this writing, there are only 90 COVID patients in the ICU:

More:

  • Average age for COVID cases that died is 81 years (range: 20-107)
  • Average age for COVID cases hospitalized with an ICU stay is 58 years (range: 0-90)
  • Average age for COVID cases hospitalized is 62 years (range: 0-104)
  • Average age for COVID cases not hospitalized is 36 years (range: 0-108)

So, as of this writing, only 90 beds in the intensive care unit are occupied by COVID patients. The average age of death is eighty-one years old. The average age of someone suffering from COVID but is not hospitalised is thirty-six years old

To summarise: the ICUs in Alberta are not over-run, anyone under forty years of age has a good survivability rate and is less likely to be hospitalised and those who are elderly are high-risk patients.

So, Twitter warrior, where is Jesus? Watching you lie on Twitter and your fellow idiots completely mischaracterise His words and deeds because you can't read a book.
