Halloween Costumes

A source of anxiety for some is what they are going to be for Halloween. There are the usual suspects- witch, ghost, princess, guy from Scream. Others have had more original or unusual ideas- a Christmas tree, a poorly-written quiz paper, toilet-paper mummy. Let this be an opportunity to give ideas or opinions or share some unusual Halloween costume stories.

One good disguise would be a Liberal Prime Minister with an ounce of conscience. Alas, it's such a wild idea that no one could concoct such a thing. Nice photo though. It shows innocence which is lacking in Canada

Down with Halloween...

...but I like Mag's suggestion!

As for me, my favorite costume was when I played Pascal's brainchild. That was freakin' AWESOME.

As I recall, a certain someone around here played Pascal, "pregnant with meaning".

That wasn't a Halloween costume, though. Or was it?? I don't remember. I have repressed all memories of my former days of stupidly following the trend of celebrating this dreadful "holiday".

One of my students came dressed as a fairy princess and another one chased me around with a false axe.
Ahh, Halloween...

At my son's school, there are a couple of kindergarten teacher's who do not "believe" in Halloween. In their classes they have nursery rhyme parties instead of Halloween parties.

Ladyd, that would be fun.
I just think that it is important that people can put aside some time for festivities. I see Halloween as a time of cheap thrills and candy. If people wish not to participate in Halloween, or any other holiday, then fine. Let people find a reason why they should be happy and enjoy each other's company. To paraphrase J.R.R. Tolkien, if more of us valued cheer, good food and song, rather than gold, the world would be a happier place.

I thought of an idea for She who must be obeyed's Catechism class. A halloween party where the kids come dressed as Biblical characters
