Now I'm Mad!

(Warning: There will language that may offend some. Don't blame me, though.)

John Edwards, Presidential hopeful and ambulance-chaser extraordinaire, thought, for whatever reason, that hiring Amanda Marcotte and Melissa McEwan, bloggers at Pandagon.net and Shakespeare's Sister respectively, was a good idea. For those who don't know or who have better things to do than read their blogs, these women enjoy revelling in anti-Christian, in particular, anti-Catholic bigotry. Their posts are groundless and filled with profanity and vitriol.

Now, I know that is okay to insult Catholics because, as we all know, they don't have feelings, but I have a few good reasons why hiring these women as official blogmasters of a Presidential hopeful's campaign is a BAD idea.

Reason the first- the office of the President- the highest office in the land and, indeed, the world (let's not deny it)- should be above reproach, but not above criticism. After all, we don't live in Iran or North Korea. What I mean to say is, the president must carry himself in a dignified manner and those around him must be of sound mind and ethics. Having people who resort to epithets like "Christo-fascists" and "godbags" just isn't the image of supporters you want.

Reason the second- Catholics DO have feelings, and they vote, too. Prick them, they bleed. Insult the Virgin Mary, they find a reason why they should never vote for you in a million years. It's called democracy. Citizens of good reason and appropriate age choose the candidate they like and vote for him. Why should they choose a candidate that allows bigots to speak for them? Sure, that might not wash for Amanda and Melissa and they would probably call Catholics and Catholic voters "stupid" (that's "f---ing stupid" for the Kos Kids) and "baby-machines" and "fascists" but them's the breaks. Democracy- it's what separates us from the animals. That, and hooves.

Reason the third- ditto for everybody else they insulted, like here, for example.

Reason the fourth- we've all said things that might not be- how shall we say?- appropriate. It happens. However, with Amanda, it happens, like, every second word. Is this supposed to be an effort to show us she is serious, that her posts are valid, edgy and legitimate? How about "in the gutter"? A bigot and a moron will resort to the lowest forms of language and humour in order to get attention. Take away the cuss words and what do you have? Nothing. Bigots add nothing to culture as a whole. They are the people we don't want to acknowledge. They are an embarrassment. Their views, their language, even their very being. Everyone at this point (with the exception of the backtracking Edwards) wants to distance themselves from these twits, even the Democrats.

Reason the fifth- Amanda doesn't even have the courage to stand by her bigotted convictions (and she wishes she were as every bit as important and desirable she tries to make herself out to be. With every fibre of her being she does). When Edwards was asked to fire the offending bloggers (which he did and then re-hired), she cowered down and tried to retract the statements she could and cover up others. She tries to pass herself and her comments as some kind of defense of the freedoms we should all enjoy. Is she joking? Has anyone read her garbage? It is clearly bigotted and profane. But when backed in a corner, she see how she acts. Just like Edwards, she bowed under political pressure. I think Amanda Marcotte is the same kind of person who, if confronted by an angry reader, would run away or curl herself in a ball on the floor, shouting: "I'm an armadillo! I'm an armadillo! You can't get me! I'm an armadillo!" It would be at this point that the angry reader, bewildered, back away because it couldn't get any more pathetic than that. Probably.

In short, employing people whose agenda is clearly vulgar and bigotted is not the smartest thing to do. But who am I to argue? I'm Canadian. I don't have to live with the election, just the outcome. If John Edwards wishes to blow his chances with these self-important ho-bags, why stop him? One less idiot in the races.

Links to the Pandagon debacle that are informative, funny and good for you: LGF has a few, Slinky has a really good one and an over-the-top but funny and sadly relevant one from a fellow named Iowahawk.

Other stuff that fries me:

Amanda Marcotte, draft-dodgers, Khadrs, every other loser who seeks refuge in the Great White North, get the hell out out! We don't want you!

A day of rage? Impossible! Entirely unpredicted. Shocking, even!

But not as shocking as this.

Is this chick for real? Whoa- someone's wearing their anti-Semitism on their sleeve.

Okay, why isn't this on the front pages? North Korea and Darfur- the forgotten causes.

If you are from Canada and pay exorbitantly high taxes for those "wonderful" services, then this should be no surprise.

I leave this post with kittens crawling over one another. Not angrily, though.

I'm mad as hell, too. When I come to Korea, we are gonna raise so much hell it will be felt around the entire Asian peninsula. People will think the Apocalypse has arrived. We will talk until our throats cry out for mercy. Preferably, this will involve copious amounts of alcohol. Hee.

Michelle Malkin has some really good coverage of Mandygate but you've probably seen it b/c I noticed you mentioned it. My hope is that this WILL put a damper on Edwards' chance at the presidency. This could be a blessing in disguise. I can't stomach the thought of this guy running my country. Actually, the entire election looks daunting so far. There are no real viable candidates on either side. Even if Sam Brownback runs (he will get my vote) I am not convinced he has a great shot, either. He's too Catholic and too moral. And the Democrats...well, I don't have a dog in that race so it's neither here nor there to me, except that--as you said--I will have to live with the repurcussions of a liberal in the White House.

I am convinced that liberalism is "the new communism" and is really something to be wary of.

No, drinking will become passe once you get here. You will see why.
People are authors of their own destructions. The authors in this case are bloggers whose vulgarity knows no bounds.
Smell ya later, Edwards.

Because Korean liquor tastes like swamp mud? That's only thing I can think of to make me feel drinking would be passe.

What is the point of posting in someone's blog that you have NO WORDS when clearly you do?

Wow, thanks for nothing.
