Well, no… don’t.
The federal government has started the process of revoking the citizenship of 3,100 people suspected of lying to become Canadians.Speaking at a news conference on Ottawa Monday, Immigration Minister Jason Kenney said the federal government is "applying the full strength of Canadian law" to crack down on individuals suspected of obtaining citizenship fraudulently or falsifying information required for permanent residency.
"Canadian citizenship is not for sale," Kenney told reporters. "We are taking action to strip citizenship and permanent residence status from people who don't play by the rules and who lie or cheat to become a Canadian citizen."
To date, letters have been sent to at least 500 of the 3,100 or so citizens suspected of fraud. Individuals may appeal to the Federal Court to stop the process.
If they don't respond to their letters, requests to revoke citizenship go to cabinet. The entire process is expected to take months.
It doesn't need to take months. You can kick them out today.
A long, narrow stretch of shale rock that runs along western Newfoundland's coastline might be home to North America's next big oil find.So believes the junior oil explorer that's snapped up virtually all of the land in the Green Point shale.
The President and his campaign have identified the threat to their re-election hopes posed by the high un-employment figure and are quick to point out that despite the current rate of 8.1%, the un-employment rate has steadily fallen. Here's what they're not telling you: since the start of the financial crisis, the labor participation rate -- defined by the BLS as the percentage of the workforce (anyone 16 and older who was working or looking for work) that is employed (full-time or part-time) -- has fallen precipitously. In other words, many workers have simply stopped looking for work.According to the St. Louis Federal Reserve office, there are about 240 million Americans of working age. When the President took office in 2009, the Labor Participation rate was 65.8% but has fallen to 63.5% --the lowest in 30 years -- as of Friday's BLS report. This means that since the President has taken office, 5.5 million Americans have stopped looking for work and are not included in the un-employment rate!According BLS's August data, of the approximate 240 million Americans of Working Age, 155 Million are participating in the work force and 12.5 Million are un-employed. This produces a un-employment rate of 8.1% (12.5M un-employed / 155 employed). But, when we add back the 5.5 million Americans who have given up looking for work during the Obama Presidency, we can calculate a more accurate un-employment figure of 11.6% (17M/155M). When the 8M "involuntary part-time employees" - those who want to work full time but can't find full-time jobs -- are added to those un-employed and to those who have stopped looking for work we come up with the "under-employed rate;" currently 16.8%!
Let's go down the list. Since January 2009, how have Iran, Pakistan, North Korea, Afghanistan, Israel, and our European allies fared? Has Russia or China become less powerful or more aligned with America's interests?
I’ll take that as a no.

Also: Obama does not attend most intelligence meetings. There's your commander-in-chief for you.
In his speech, Obama said:"And yes, my plan will continue to reduce the carbon pollution that is heating our planet – because climate change is not a hoax. More droughts and floods and wildfires are not a joke.“They're a threat to our children's future. And in this election, you can do something about it.”So, President Obama -- who once declared his presidency would result in “the rise of the oceans beginning to slow” -- now wants us to believe voters can help regulate the weather.Obama's declaration that “you can do something about” droughts and floods and wildfires is akin to medieval witchcraft.
Who is the “science” president? I don’t think it’s Obama. If
he thinks he can command the weather in any way, shape or form, he is confusing
himself with Someone who can.
"I can, Obama, but you can't!" |
A Pakistani girl and an Egyptian woman have become the latest victims of Muslim extremists who hide behind Islam's Sharia laws.In countries where Sharia laws are enforced, women have often found themselves subjected to various forms of persecution and intimidation. In the first case, Rimsha Masih, a 14-year-old , mentally damaged, Christian girl from a poor suburb outside Islamabad, Pakistan, was arrested two weeks ago after her neighbors complained that she had burned documents containing verses from the Quran. This is a "crime" punishable by life sentence in Pakistan. Rimsha was arrested after a local Muslim community leader and his followers exerted pressure on the Pakistani authorities to take action against her.In a second recent case, Saudi authorities have sentenced Najla Yehya Wafa, a 35-year-old Egyptian woman, to 500 lashes. Her family says she was arrested after a business dispute with a Saudi princess. The plight of the two women is added to that of Leila Jamul, a 23-year-old Sudanese woman who was sentenced last July to death by stoning for adultery. She is being held in prison, meanwhile, with her six-month-old baby.

Fluke will gladly die in an emergency room for this. Or is it another particular
cause?
Who are we kidding? Flashes-in-the-pan don’t do useful things.

The coverage of the strike has obscured some basic facts. The money has continued to pour into Chicago’s failing public schools in recent years. Chicago teachers have the highest average salary of any city at $76,000 a year before benefits. The average family in the city only earns $47,000 a year. Yet the teachers rejected a 16 percent salary increase over four years at a time when most families are not getting any raises or are looking for work. The city is being bled dry by the exorbitant benefits packages negotiated by previous elected officials. Teachers pay only 3 percent of their health-care costs and out of every new dollar set aside for public education in Illinois in the last five years, a full 71 cents has gone to teacher retirement costs.
I’m sure Obama will save the day and add that feather to his
cap of unaccomplished things.
Give this man what you would an Ontario/Chicago teacher. He
clearly deserves it:
With tears welling up in his eyes, suspended teacher Lynden Dorval walked out of the first day of a termination hearing wearing a "Got Zero?" T-shirt.Dorval is facing termination for insubordination and is suspended. He claims the looming suspension is for going against Ross Sheppard high school policy by assigning students a zero grade, rather than using the code system the school uses to evaluate work. Now, Edmonton Public Schools superintendent Edgar Schmidt will determine his fate.

Documents released Monday and seen in advance by The Associated Press lend weight to the belief that suppression at the highest levels of the U.S. government helped cover up Soviet guilt in Katyn massacre and other killings in 1940.The evidence is among about 1,000 pages of newly declassified documents that the U.S. National Archives released Monday and put online. Historians who saw the material days before the official release describe it as important. The most dramatic revelation so far is the evidence of the coded messages sent by the two American POWs — messages historians were unaware of and which add to evidence that the Roosevelt administration knew of Soviet atrocities early on in the war.
And now, dogs of
September 11th.

Initially, I was surprised to learn that Sandra Fluke was a Cornell grad; then, I learned that she matriculated in "Feminist, Gender, & Sexuality Studies." Yeah, we're in dire need of more of THOSE, aren't we. After all, we recently began a new decade, the 1970s, didn't we? If she has a "cause", it's not all that different from Bin Laden's cause; destroying one of the cornerstones of this civilization.
While no one expects you to follow Puritan rules if you're a Harvard student b/c it no longer has the religious affiliation it had at its founding almost 400 years ago, Georgetown DOES still have its Catholic affiliation. You don't have to be Catholic to attend there, but you need to respect its rules and codes of conduct. You don't need to be Mormon to attend Brigham Young U. You don't need to Jewish to attend Brandeis or Yeshiva U, but you DO need to respect that affiliation and adhere to its rules. No one's forcing students to attend religious services or convert, but it's not a student's place to try to re-write the school rules.
Sandy F. knew DAMN WELL that certain rules would be in place at Georgetown. With the U.S. having 50-100 truly distinguished universities, she could easily have selected another strong law school. Is she a victim? No way. Limbaugh (& many silent others) are right; he just shouldn't have said it the WAY he said it.

The moneyed Sandra needs to make a point before becoming completely irrelevant.
The idea of funding one's bad choices should be offensive to any thinking person.
Unless you're Sandra Fluke.
