Saturday Night Special

This must still be embarrassing:

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says he respects the decision of Calgary MP Darshan Kang to step away from the Liberal caucus while sexual harassment allegations against him are investigated.

But Trudeau won't say whether he personally asked Kang to resign.

Oh, I'm sure Trudeau respects Kang's decision to resign the way his true motivation for finding the leak of the excremental decision to reward Omar Khadr over ten million dollars is to better manage the ongoing practice of transparency voters have seen so often in this government:

The Privy Council Office says it has launched an investigation into who leaked confidential information about settlement money paid to former Guantanamo Bay inmate Omar Khadr.

Following a report from online political news website iPolitics published on Wednesday, PCO spokesperson Shane Diaczuk confirmed that his office “is following up to determine the facts surrounding this release of information and will be taking appropriate measures.” ...

The fact that a settlement had been reached with Khadr in his civil suit against the Canadian government, along with the alleged amount of that settlement ($10.5 million), was initially leaked to the media in early July.

News of the payout quickly became a political nightmare for the governing Liberals, prompting a backlash from the opposition Conservatives, the families of the American soldiers Khadr is alleged to have killed and injured in 2002, and broad segments of the Canadian population.

(Sidebar: not alleged. He did it. He pleaded guilty to it.)

Providing illegal migrants with winterised tents sends the impression that they are more than welcome to remain and squat illegally:

A tent city erected in Cornwall, Ont. was never used, and that city’s conference centre is emptying of its temporary residents as the flow of illegal migrants into Canada ebbs. However, the federal government is trying to pre-empt another such crisis flaring up in winter by stepping up its south-of-the-border outreach, and looking into acquiring heated trailers.

Now - what would give anyone the idea that Trudeau wants illegal migrants to stay and wants everyone else to forget about it?

Election in 2019.

Also:

A whopping 82% of Canadians think assigning police and immigration officers to monitor and secure the border is “a major priority,” according to the Angus Reid Institute.

Only 47% of respondents agreed that getting new arrivals safely into Canada and set up with benefits was an important issue. If forced to choose between the two options, 70% pick border security over providing assistance.

Wynne is awfully good at bribing unions with newly-found money before elections:

Three quarters of Ontarians disapprove of the job Liberal Premier Kathleen Wynne is doing, a new Forum Research poll suggests.

Broad public support for Wynne has been dreadful for some time, and the Liberals continue to flounder even in their Toronto stronghold, said Dr. Lorne Bozinoff, president of Forum Research.

“Of primary concern for the premier should be her declining support in Toronto, as she now sits third behind both the Tories and the NDP,” Bozinoff said in a release. “Without the same massive support in Toronto she received in 2014, her re-election prospects look dim, at best.”

Just two in 10 (18%) approve of the job Wynne is doing and 73% disapprove.

Meanwhile, the poll shows Progressive Conservative Leader Patrick Brown would be the next premier if an election were held today.

(Sidebar: and the difference between him and her is what, precisely?)

A trifecta of poor breeding, self-loathing and leftism in academia:

Yeah.

If this puffy man-child benefitted from what must have been an expensive stint at a post-secondary institution (how important could such an "education" be if this guy is a dolt?), then he would know his words are demonstrably false and laughable. Anyone taught anything at home or school (at least taught properly) wouldn't utter anything so stupefying.

Yet he did just that.

Well, he can be stupid and riddled with white shame if he wants but he can only be so in the West where he is cushioned by law and order and a rich field of culture and sophistication.

Anywhere else, he would have starved to death ages ago.

No one forgets Santa Claus:

The family of an ailing Edmonton mall Santa is overwhelmed after a Facebook post asking the public for pictures of the man with their children has gone viral.

On Wednesday morning, Nicole Hawley posted on Facebook that her 68-year-old grandfather, Cecil Hawley, is in intensive care and his prognosis isn't good.

She asked people to send pictures of Cecil dressed as the Londonderry Mall Santa with their children.
More than 24 hours later, the post had gone viral with close to 1,300 shares, and close to 900 comments. Attached to the comments were hundreds of photos of Cecil posing with kids in his red suit and bushy white beard.

"[I was] just hoping for maybe a few photos," said Nicole on Thursday. "I know it's a big thing to ask complete strangers to send pictures of their children to a stranger. So I wasn't expecting much of a reply."

Cecil and his wife Dana Hawley have been posing as Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus at Londonderry Mall for the past five Christmas seasons.

"Words cannot describe how great it feels to have this kind of support from complete strangers," Nicole said.

Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Richard Anderson:
