Liberal MP Iqra Khalid was conciliatory as the initial witness, emphasizing that her motion to tackle discrimination was equally about all religions and races. (Sidebar: Iqra Khalid, while the president of the Muslim Student Association at York University, put out a book that advocated wife abuse, as is stated in the Koran, the unrevised text written by Mohammad, its prophet who believed that women were stupid, bound for hell and who married a child. Under M-103, this politically embarrassing truth can never be uttered under penalty of tribunal or possibly prison.)

In the aftermath of the Quebec City mosque shootings, there were similar calls to deal with these stations. A CBC story featured much hand-wringing over the stations, but could only offer this evidence: “Radio poubelle (trash radio) stations often air segments voicing concerns about Muslim immigration and the threat of Islamic terrorism.”

Is that it? Maybe they’re rude and excessive. But how is that a crime that warrants the government shutting them down?

Juneau-Katsuya then lamented that there was “too much shyness and political correctness when it comes to the prosecuting process, letting it go under the blanket of free speech and letting things go too far.” We should be prosecuting people more, he said.

Indeed.

But I digress ...

He was then asked by Liberal MP Arif Virani if Rebel Media “amplifies the voices of the extreme right?” He answered yes.

Virani then read out a tweet that wrongly said the Quebec City shooter had an unspecified Muslim accomplice.


Juneau-Katsuya said it should be “denounced and if possible prosecuted, because here, this is defamation.”

The tweet, Virani then revealed, was in fact made by my colleague Tarek Fatah – who was also testifying that day.

What should we make of all this? No one disputes people should be charged for threats, harassment and, of course, assault. That wasn’t what was being discussed though.

No, this was a former federal police officer basically toying with the censoring of the media and the prosecuting of individuals when “things go too far.”

Rather bizarrely, Virani told Fatah that same day that he disagreed with his opening remarks but believed in his right to say them. So why then did he lay a trap that ended in a witness recommending Fatah be prosecuted for an erroneous tweet?

My colleagues in the media tried to say M-103 was a toothless motion. Yet here we are, having a committee hearing. Then they said it would never lead to suppression of speech. Yet look what just happened.

This is a dangerous game we’re playing. Everyone's free to disagree with Quebec talk radio, Ezra Levant and Tarek Fatah until the cows come home. But prosecution?!

Yes, because MPs voted for this bit of virtue-signalling Nazism, one that favours one religion (an oppressively anti-Semitic and anti-Christian one, to boot) over all others. Motion 103 not only adds a few votes their way but also paves the way for any comment, criticism or even mockery to be squelched before it reaches the masses. This isn't just censorship. It is the gradual progression of totalitarianism.

How many free states bar dissent?

Why aren't Iqra Khalid and Arif Virani made to define Islamophobia? if this is going to be the law of the land, shouldn't this be properly defined? Why hasn't Iqra Khalid explained her role in the Muslim Student Association's distribution of a book that approved of wife-beating (as it is approved of in the Koran and has not been challenged or reformed since Islam's inception) instead of scrubbing any mention of her involvement wherever she can? Why can't the average citizen decry the attempts at mass murder committed by Islamists on Canadian soil? Why should Islam be exempt from criticism but not Mormonism, Judaism, Catholicism or any other religion? Why can't anyone talk about any of this? Why are some otherwise unaccomplished MPs dictating what can and cannot be said in an ostensibly democratic country and who are they to overturn centuries of thought and progress?

Are these questions going to be asked and answered at these show trials or will they disappear down the memory hole (or else)?

North Korea told a U.N. rights panel that international sanctions imposed on it over its nuclear and ballistic missile programs would endanger the survival of North Korean children. 

Han Tae Song, Pyongyang’s ambassador to the United Nations in Geneva, was speaking at a hearing of the United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child late on Wednesday. 

The panel of independent experts challenged North Korean officials over allegations of forced child labor, sexual abuse and trafficking in North Korea, Pyongyang’s health and education budget, and Internet access for children. 

Han said North Korea, whose population is 26 million, is a “people-centered socialist country... where protection and promotion of the rights and welfare of the child are given top priority ... There is room for improvement.”

Why is the judge desperate to make this nauseating little cow sound crazy? She knows damn well what she is doing and why:

The accused ISIS terrorist doesn’t recognize our legal system. She refuses to stand before the judge. She declines to engage in the proceedings against her.

In fact, Rehab Dughmosh, 32, doesn’t consider herself a Canadian at all. But she will face Canadian justice all the same.

Lucky her.

Dressed in a prison-issued green sweatsuit and all but her eyes covered by a black headscarf, Dughmosh was indicted Wednesday on 14 serious terrorism-related charges, including attempting to travel to Syria in 2016 to join ISIS and four counts of attempted murder with a golf club and knife inside a Scarborough Canadian Tire store this past June. None of the charges have been proven in court.

In a surprising move, Dughmosh announced that she wouldn’t be entering a guilty plea despite her many declarations in previous appearances that she wanted to do so.

“No,” she advised Justice Kim Crosbie. “I am not guilty.”

The judge told her she then had three choices: to be tried in provincial court by a different judge, in Superior Court by judge alone or by judge and jury. Dughmosh refused to choose.

“I do not believe what you believe,” she said through an Arabic interpreter. “Tell her I am still a supporter of the Islamic State and I am not guilty and I don’t want to go to bail court.”

The ever patient judge explained that they weren’t in bail court — she’s already waived her right to a bail hearing — but at the point in the proceedings where they must decide where the case goes next. Dughmosh was told she could select what kind of trial she’d like to have.

“I don’t want anyone,” she replied. “Stop the court. Stop the court.”

She’s been a handful over the last several months — eschewing any legal representation, refusing to leave her cell for video appearances and even having to be dragged against her will. Crosbie ordered a psychiatric assessment to ensure Dughmosh understands the court process. A psychiatrist concluded that she does indeed.

But while she may understand, she refuses to co-operate.

Under M-103, one is not allowed to point that Rehab Dughmosh is a perfect example of how Islamism is not compatible with normal society.

I'm told that such things hurt people's feelings.

Trudeau blasted the Conservatives for using the term "barbaric," even though it's been in the guide since 2009. Forced marriages are the only new item on the list. 

"There's nothing that the word 'barbaric' achieves that the words 'absolutely unacceptable' would not have achieved," Trudeau, the Liberal immigration critic, said. 

"We accept that these acts are absolutely unacceptable. That's not the debate. In casual conversation, I'd even use the word barbaric to describe female circumcision, for example, but in an official Government of Canada publication, there needs to be a little bit of an attempt at responsible neutrality." 

But Immigration Minister Jason Kenney fired back Monday, accusing the Liberals of choosing political correctness over women's rights. 

"Despite Trudeau's opposition, we make no apologies for letting immigrant women know their rights. 

We won't turn a blind eye to the abuse of immigrant women, even if the Ignatieff Liberals prefer we err on the side of political correctness," said Alykhan Velshi, a spokesman for Kenney.

Conservative Sen. Lynn Beyak has been removed from all Senate committees, a week after a series of controversial remarks about First Nations people came to light.

Chairs of the Red Chamber's agriculture, transport and defence committees confirmed to CBC News Wednesday that Beyak was no longer a member of their respective bodies. The Senate confirmed her name would be officially struck from the rosters Thursday morning.

In the spring, then interim Conservative Leader Rona Ambrose kicked Beyak off the Aboriginal Peoples committee after the northwestern Ontario senator mounted a defence of the Indian residential school system.

Beyak will continue to sit as a member of the Conservative caucus.

Keeping aboriginal people in northern ghettos is not going to fix things, gated white Liberals.

Ban that thought-crime all you want. People will still think it.




It is true that no one wants to talk about EMPs but that is not the only thing they don't want to talk about:

There are bigger ideological fish to fry than something that can reduce the country to the state of Pakistan overnight.

When people can no longer tweet out any opinion, they will probably chuck their devices away and the EMP may have little effect on a largely scientific-illiterate population.

A new fifth grade teacher at Canopy Oaks Elementary is asking students to use gender-neutral pronouns in the classroom. 

Math and science teacher Chloe Bressack sent the request home in a letter to parents headlined "About Mx. Bressack."

“... my pronouns are 'they, them, their' instead of 'he, his, she, hers.' I know it takes some practice for it to feel natural,” the letter reads, “but students catch on pretty quickly.”

The letter also asks that students use “Mx.," (pronounced 'Mix') when addressing the teacher rather than Mr. or Ms.
