Canada's Back

... getting the Americans to do the fighting that Justin is too much of a girl's blouse to do:

U.S. President Donald Trump said on Thursday he was prepared to raise the case of two Canadians detained by Beijing with Chinese President Xi Jinping, an act that could potentially ease a major dispute between Canada and China.

Way to fight for Canadian nationals, Justin!

Naturally, he will not do anything that could anger his Chinese bosses just as he will not upset the political apple-cart in Quebec:

Speaking to reporters in Washington, D.C., Trudeau said he and his government will defend minority rights everywhere in Canada. "We do not feel that it is a government's responsibility, or in a government's interest, to legislate on what people should be wearing," he said.

I'll just leave this right here:

While speculation swirls around a possible snub by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during Trudeau’s official visit, many observers are questioning some of the photo op threads worn by the Trudeau clan.

A headline out of the Indian English-language news magazine Outlook asks if the family’s attire is “too flashy even for an Indian” and refers to the choices as “special.”

The magazine is not alone in raising an eyebrow.

Trudeau was welcomed at the Golden Temple, the holiest site for Sikhs, on Wednesday as the Prime Minister and his family — adorned in flashy fare — were escorted by locals dressed in suits.

What was the female journalist wearing when you groped her and what did you learn from it, Justin? How to deny things better?

What were pro-life MPs wearing when you forced them to tow the pro-abortion party line or you would not sign their papers?

Were special-needs children wearing anything offensive when your government withheld funds that would have enabled them to go to summer camp?

Also - when you are picked for a public service job, you do that job because tax dollars go towards it. Having said that, it's not like she ducked out on an important country or anything:

U.S. Ambassador to Canada Kelly Knight Craft was away from her post in Ottawa for more than 300 days, according to Bob Menendez, the top Democrat on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

Menendez questioned Craft Wednesday during her confirmation hearing to become the next U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, saying the number of days away was “extraordinary.”

“During your one-and-a-half years as Ambassador you spent an excessive amount of time absent from Ottawa, leaving your duties to deputies,” he said. “I find this staggering amount of time away from post very troubling and an abdication of leadership.”

People feel that way about the government in Canada.
