And the Rest of It

From the most corrupt and morally bankrupt government in the Dominion's history:

The Commons natural resources committee by a 6-5 decision blocked a vote to investigate the collapse of the $8 billion Keystone XL pipeline project. Opposition MPs expressed anger after Liberal and New Democrat members adjourned debate with a snap vote: “We just did. We can and we did.”

Let's stop subsidising post-secondary education and see where this brownshirt ends up:

Dr. Amie Wolf, who is a professor in the faculty of education, referred to the students as the "dirty dozen." She has since deleted her Twitter account.

In a later interview, Wolf said that she tweeted out their names in order to prevent them from getting jobs in education, alleging that they were unfit to be teachers.

The controversy surrounding Wolf and her students dates back two weeks, when UBC allegedly deleted a series of nearly identical interim reports she had filed against the 12 students after they were transferred out of her class. The students transferred after they complained about her teaching style.

Mr. Rogan, even if you were Orson Welles and produced movies of the highest calibre and not drug-fuelled junk, you still couldn't be an insufferable prat:

Seth Rogen who had been tagged on Twitter regarding the latter, retorted as follows:

“I actually watched your video and it’s so stupid. Why was I a left wing socialist when I was broke and unemployed according to your brilliant theory?”

To which I replied:

“Thanks for watching. Many young people are socialists when they are driven by immature impulses of utopia. They then grow up. You are a grown man with tons of money. Your current stances are rooted in vacuous empty signalling rooted in a desire to belong in Hollywood. It takes zero courage to hold your stances within the entertainment ecosystem. You espouse bullshit rhetoric that wins you points at the cool kids' parties but you are otherwise as ignorant as my out-of-order toaster. I'd be happy to chat with you on my show as you have a very large platform and as such you have the opportunity to actually make a difference. Stop succumbing to the herd mindset. Learn how to think critically. Learn the meaning and implications of socialism vs. capitalism. You are among the MOST privileged people in the history of humanity. And yet you walk around as though you are a Che Guevara revolutionary. You are the product of capitalism. If you are such a socialist, send me some of your money. I'm trying to build an interdisciplinary research institute. Live out your convictions. If you are a socialist, you have no business being the beneficiary of the most capitalist industry in the most capitalist country in the history of humanity. Don't be a hypocritical fraud. Cheers amigo.”

If they had been Uighurs, someone might have noticed

As many as 750 people have been murdered in Ethiopia after an attack at a church where some believe the Ark of the Covenant to be located, Aleteia reports.

The massacre reportedly took place in January and was revealed when a Belgian non-profit, European External Program with Africa (EEPA), released a report on the matter. According to EEPA, churchgoers were systematically taken out of the church and executed.

Interesting

It took more than five decades, but the wallet Paul Grisham lost in the late 1960s has been returned to him.

Now 91, the former Navy meteorologist had signed up in 1948, and was eventually assigned to Operation Deep Freeze as a civilian scientist. In 1967 he had to leave his wife and two kiddies behind for 13 months to take up a cold stint way, way down under.

“I went down there kicking and screaming,” he told the San Diego Union-Tribune.

And he was at his home in Monterey 53 years later when the postman delivered the wallet he had lost at some point down on “The Ice.” It had been found in 2014 behind some file cabinets when the McMurdo Station was being demolished.

And its contents were intact. Still there were his Navy ID card; his driver’s licence; a pocket reference card on what to do in case of an atomic, biological or chemical attack; a beer-ration punch card; a tax-withholding statement; and receipts for money orders (remember those?) that he had sent to his wife.
