The Beijing Olympics

The US has formally boycotted the Beijing Winter Olympics.

Japan is also considering it.

Canada - not at all:

Conservative Leader Erin O’Toole is urging the federal government to join allies in a diplomatic boycott of the Beijing Winter Olympics, citing ongoing Chinese human rights violations.

We all know what Justin's favourite country is.

Also - some sports teams are special:

Twenty athletes and five staff on Field Hockey Canada’s junior women’s field hockey team have received a federal government exemption that will get them home this week from South Africa.

The team got stuck in Potchefstroom, a city about 120 kilometres southwest of Johannesburg, when Canada and many other countries enacted new travel restrictions due to the Omicron variant of COVID-19. The team went to South Africa for the junior women’s World Cup, scheduled for Dec. 5 to 17.

How consistently logical to ramp up fear about a less severe strain than the one China initially spread around the world but then never test people in the hot zone.

(Sidebar: don't even think about having Mass.)

Because science.
