Today In "It Was Never About a Virus and We Damn Well Know It" News

It's time to stop lying to ourselves ...

Christmas is cancelled:

**

The government of this country has lied to its people and the world.

Do prove me wrong:

“Anyone on your team conducting gain of function studies, recombination studies or any other studies that may have resulted in the creation of the nCoV?” That was James LeDuc, director of the Galveston National Laboratory (GNL) in a February 9, 2020 email to Juan Zhiming at the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) in China. LeDuc, who earned a PhD in epidemiology from UCLA, had trained staff at the WIV, yet the GNL boss had little clue what was going on there. ...

China and Viruses: The Case of Dr. Xiangguo Qiu, a January 2020 paper by Israeli microbiologist Dr. Dany Shoham, revealed that Dr. Qiu shipped a cargo of deadly pathogens to the WIV. The shipment included: Ebola Makona, Mayinga, Kikwit, Ivory Coast, Bundibugyo, Sudan Boniface, Sudan Gulo, MA-Ebov, GP-Sudan, Hendra, Nipah Malaysia and Nipah Bangaladesh. This deadly cargo came from Canada’s National Microbiology Lab (NML) in Winnipeg, where Dr. Qiu, a Chinese national, ran the special pathogens program.

Dr. Qiu also maintained a close bond with China and the graduate students that joined her at the NML came from facilities believed to be involved in China’s biological weapons development, including the Academy of Military Medical Sciences and the WIV. In 2017 and 2018, Dr. Qiu made at least five trips to the WIV.

In February 2020, Dr. Qiu and husband Keding Cheng were removed from the NML on what Canadian authorities described as administrative and policy matters. One of Dr. Qiu’s staunchest defenders was Dr. Gary Kobinger, head of the special pathogens biosafety program at the NML from 2008 to 2016. Kobinger simply echoed Dr. Qiu’s claim that it was all a misunderstanding and nothing illegal had taken place. ...

Qiu recently co-authored a study with Feihu Yan of China’s Academy of Military Sciences. Yan was one of the Chinese graduate students Dr. Qiu brought to the National Microbiology Laboratory. In effect, Canada was a willing collaborator with China on dangerous research related to biological weapons.

This:

The Commons ethics committee yesterday by a 6-4 vote rejected an investigation of Covid contracts for lobbyists. “It would just be stirring the pot,” said Liberal MP Greg Fergus (Hull-Aylmer, Que.), parliamentary secretary to the Prime Minister: “I think we should move on to something else.”

And the House of Commons helped in this cover-up

Also in "How Corrupt Was My Government" news:

Federal tax collectors have yet to audit multi-billion dollar Canada Emergency Response Benefit payments though the Canada Revenue Agency has known of suspected fraud since June 2020. MPs on the Commons finance committee expressed surprise at the slow pace of investigations: “This has been going on since 2020 and nobody’s investigated anything?”

**

Defence Minister Anita Anand’s husband is director of a company that received millions in Covid contracts while Anand served in cabinet, records show. There was no insider dealing, said Anand’s office: “We have awarded contracts to private companies.”

**

Cabinet budgeted more than $81 million to enforce Covid rules for employees though fewer than 5,000 are unvaccinated. Treasury Board President Mona Fortier under Commons questioning could not explain over-budgeting for test kits: “How does the government justify this?”

**

The Public Health Agency spent more than $600 million enforcing a hodgepodge of quarantine rules that still left the border unsecure against Covid, a federal audit said yesterday. “This is not a success story,” said Auditor General Karen Hogan: “The Public Health Agency is unable to show us whether or not these border measures are effective.”

We can overhaul the system by firing Theresa Tam:

Chief Public Health Officer Dr. Theresa Tam is admitting the public health system wasn’t prepared for COVID and is proposing a new course to ensure Canada will be ready for the next pandemic.

In a lengthy report, Tam says many of the issues are long-standing and in need of serious overhaul. She said the pandemic should serve as an alarm for what needs to be done.

“The COVID-19 pandemic has served as an important wake up call. Simply put, we were not prepared to face a public health emergency of the magnitude of COVID-19,” she said.

Several reasons why Theresa Tam should be publicly fired on live television and her tears of bitterness captured for all to see.

Surely you can crank out another flu shot:

Pfizer and AstraZeneca’s COVID-19 vaccines are not as effective in fighting off the Omicron variant compared to other strains, according to a new study published Monday.

Researchers from the University of Oxford said in the pre-print paper that they had discovered a “substantial fall” in neutralizing antibodies when the Omicron variant was introduced to blood samples 28 days after participants received their second dose of either Pfizer or AstraZeneca’s vaccine.

The study, which has yet to be peer-reviewed, discovered that some of the participants “failed to neutralize [the virus] at all.”

This Omicron variant

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says the newly discovered Omicron COVID-19 variant is “scary,” but once Canadians get through the winter, the summer will be “better.”

Canada's littlest lawsuits:

More than 725,000 five- to 11-year-olds across Canada have received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, with tens of thousands more appointments booked, a heartening start, say those leading vaccination efforts, just two weeks into the rollout of shots for some of the country’s youngest kids.

Oh, wait:

The government has confirmed that coronavirus vaccine manufacturers are protected from liability when it comes to issues with their doses — but the feds say this is par-for-the-course and has no bearing on vaccine safety.

“Let’s be clear that indemnification clauses in vaccine contracts are standard,” Procurement Minister Anita Anand told reporters, speaking at a Monday press conference in Ottawa.

“All countries, generally speaking, are faced with the issue of indemnification of companies, especially in cases of novel technologies like this.”

When pressed on whether Canada is including these indemnification clauses as part of the contracts that have been drawn up with vaccine manufacturers, Anand confirmed that this is the case.

For one's edification:

The vaccine has been known as the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine, and will now be marketed as Comirnaty (koe-mir’-na-tee), for the prevention of COVID-19 disease in individuals 16 years of age and older.

Also:

Parents of four-fifths of elementary school age children newly eligible for Covid shots have declined vaccination to date. The Public Health Agency said the coronavirus posed little serious risk to young children, adding school outbreaks were not significant: “If your objective is to reduce serious outcomes, the key focus remains the old age groups.”

A review in the most recent issue of Med Check, a bimonthly bulletin published by the Japan Institute of Pharmacovigilance (NOPJIP) as a member of the International Society of Drug Bulletins (ISDB), found that the death risk of the jabs may even be as high as 40 times greater for young people.

Med Check cited three reports of individuals between the ages of 20 and 29 who died within days or weeks of vaccination, estimating the death rate for that age group at 3.2 per 1 million. One of the apparent vaccine deaths was that of a 27-year-old professional baseball player, who collapsed eight days after getting jabbed and died after a month-long battle in a hospital.

Uh, no:

Some Alberta physicians are urging the province to begin offering third doses of COVID-19 vaccine as soon as possible to pregnant Albertans, who are at higher risk of complications.

I'll leave these right here:

According to Dr. Daniel Nagase, stillbirth cases in Canada are exploding, specifically in those who got “fully vaccinated” in accordance with government mandates.

In the roughly four-minute video, Nagase makes it clear that this phenomenon is occurring exclusively in vaccinated mothers.

In Waterloo, for example, the stillbirth rate is currently 25 times higher than normal, but again only among fully vaccinated moms. This data came from a provincial prosecutor (similar to a state attorney general) who received it from a nurse who works at the local hospital.

Nagase says he has spoken to other medical professionals in the past who have said many of the same things, but that they are now staying silent for their own protection.

**

At the end of November, Dr. Nagase was joined by Dr. Mel Bruchet and the two investigated the Lions Gate Hospital in North Vancouver to verify the claims made by doulas who spoke of the increased number of stillbirths among mothers who were fully vaccinated. According to Fox 26 Newshenry, Dr. Nagase filed an official complaint with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, "alleging conflicts of interest influencing their policies, decisions and statements made to the people of British Columbia."

In December 2020, the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists released a report in which its president, Dr. Edward Morris, said, "A range of vaccines are routinely and safely offered during pregnancy but as specific clinical trials of COVID-19 vaccines in pregnant women have not yet been carried out, there isn't sufficient evidence to recommend the routine use of COVID-19 vaccines to pregnant or breast feeding women."

Dr. Morris added, "Women planning a pregnancy within three months of receiving the first dose are also being advised not to have the vaccine, but this is precautionary advice until we have information from research studies in pregnancy."

Is this a COVID-sanctimoniousness fatigue I see?:

About 40 per cent of Canadians know a family member or friend who is not vaccinated against COVID-19, and most don’t raise the issue with them, a poll carried out this month suggests.

The survey conducted by Leger and commissioned by the Association for Canadian Studies suggests four in ten Canadians have a friend or family member who is not vaccinated. Seventy per cent of these don’t discuss the matter with them, with half of those saying they have given up trying to persuade them to get protective shots.

Because "transparency":

No change in the Criminal Code is necessary to deal with Covid protesters, a Senate committee was told Friday. Cabinet proposes maximum ten year prison sentences for some demonstrators: “I’m not sure the police will actually do anything differently.”

Just like with pro-lifers, it is not a matter of access to a hospital but the fact that someone is waving about a sign.

This is something:

A University of British Columbia, Okanagan researcher has invented a coating that can be applied to face masks to prevent the transmission of COVID-19, and has now received the prestigious Mitacs & NRC-IRAP Award for Commercialization.
