But it is easy to outsource your energy needs to Russia and make everyone else pay for it:
Germany’s economy minister said Sunday that the country will limit the use of natural gas for electricity production amid concerns about possible shortages caused by a cut in supplies from Russia.
Canada outsources much of its plastics recycling to Asia, most of which is not recycled properly or at all due to poor or non-existent recycling facilities and certainly lax regulations.
But at least Canada can morally preen:
Canada on Monday published final regulations to prohibit “harmful” single-use plastics, with a ban on manufacturing and importing most of these items to come into effect in December.
The ban will be on single-use plastics including checkout bags, cutlery, food-service ware made from or containing plastic that is hard to recycle, ring carriers, stir sticks and straws, the government said in a statement.
And about those single-use plastics for medical purposes or grocery bags that get repurposed?
