June 4th

On June 4th, 1989, the communist government of China violently cracked down a student protest after a months-long occupation of Tienanmen Square.

The brutal repression is not surprising given the government that still exists to this day.

It is the complacence - one might argue, the complicity - of the West that is so orally and politically troubling.

In exchange for cheap goods, Western countries have allowed China to do what is wishes to the point where it can fix foreign elections with the knowledge of the government, infiltrate a sovereign nation, spread a virus, or unleash a stolen one (won't that be fun?).

A small country - say, Israel - is admonished for defending itself.

The world has embraced a political evil for petty greed.
