With only a few details having changed, Canada is as it ever was:
During Question Period on Tuesday, Prime Minister Mark Carney claimed that the Liberals could grow the economy "without spending money."
Just days earlier, the party tabled a $486 billion spending plan — known as the Main Estimates — which showed few noticeable changes from the previous administration.
"Unlike the member opposite, I know the difference between a main estimate and a budget," Carney said in response to grilling from Conservative MP Kelly McCauley, "and unlike the members opposite, we know how to grow this economy without spending money."
The prime minister's claim was met with audible laughter from the other side of the chamber.
"The Liberals want a blank cheque," Conservative MP Joël Godin replied, "and they want approval to spend over $1.5 billion without us knowing what the financial situation really is. During the election campaign, they promised to limit spending to 2%, but instead, they're increasing it by 8%. This government has already shown that they deceived Canadians; will the minority Liberals listen to the majority in parliament and table a budget this spring?"
He went on to note that, "if our families, seniors, and SMEs acted like this government, they'd be bankrupt."
Carney did not say whether a budget would be tabled in the next 18 days, only saying his priority was growing the economy by turning 13 Canadian economies into one.
Where's that budget, Carney?

The Situation for Temporary Workers in Canada🇨🇦 Is Critical and Getting Worse by the Day
— Angrez Angurana, RCIC (@angrezRCIC) June 5, 2025
So many of these have reached a stage where there’s nothing much they can do.
While many work permits have already expired or are expiring soon, the bigger wave is yet to come, with… pic.twitter.com/F1elerwmXz

First of all, there is no freedom of conscience in Canada in practice. Otherwise, you wouldn't fire medical personnel for refusing questionable jabs or taking part in abortions or euthanasia.
So there's that.
Secondly, this is mutilating children which is contrary to science and decency:
The Canadian Medical Association (CMA) has launched a legal challenge to Alberta’s recent ban on puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones for youth under 16 who identify as transgender. The CMA argues that Alberta’s Bill 26, enacted in December last year, violates physicians’ Charter right to freedom of conscience. This raises a pertinent question: If a doctor is compelled by conscience to subject vulnerable youth to unproven treatments despite growing evidence of harm, should governments intervene to protect patients?

Since January, according to Statistics Canada, beef prices have surged at an alarming pace. Striploin is up 34.2%, top sirloin 33.7%, and rib cuts nearly 12%. Pork rib cuts and chicken breasts have each risen 5.9%, and even meatless burger patties are 6.8% more expensive. While all proteins in the so-called “meat trifecta” have climbed, beef leads the charge — by a wide margin. ...
(Sidebar: you don't say.)
Other than a shrinking herd, there are several other contributing factors: Canada’s expansive geography, higher transportation costs, a limited number of federally licensed beef processors, carbon pricing, and higher labour costs all compound the problem. Regulations and logistical inefficiencies are more burdensome in Canada, driving up prices for retailers — and ultimately consumers.
