And the Rest of It

Socialised medicine is rationed medicine:

An Alberta father of two daughters died after he was denied a potentially life-saving defibrillator for his heart due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Jerry (Ched) Dunham was turned away at his doctor’s office on April 16 while he was there for a scheduled appointment. Dunham was told that his doctor was “too busy” to have him despite the fact that there were no other patients around.

According to the Calgary Herald, Dunham penned a spirited Facebook post while waiting in the doctor’s office to plead with his doctor for the procedure to go through.

“I was basically told that the government is willing to risk my life to save my life,” wrote Dunham.
“Let me say that again, my government told me they’re willing to let me die, which according to them is for my own safety . . .”

Two months later, Dunham passed away on June 7 at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital after suffering a cardiac arrest nearly a week earlier which deprived his brain of oxygen.

Well, you know what you're doing, Russians:

Russians appeared to have paved the way for Vladimir Putin to stay in power until 2036 by voting overwhelmingly for a package of constitutional changes which will also boost pensions, initial results of a nationwide vote showed on Wednesday.

Partial results, announced five hours before polls closed, indicate the former KGB officer who has ruled Russia for more than two decades as president or prime minister will win the right to run for two more terms. That means he could remain president for 16 more years.

They've shown people the inside of mine-shafts for things like this.

But think of the Narrative!:

The United Nations has issued a belated warning that soaring demand for raw materials for the electric vehicle revolution is creating dangerous conditions for children working in toxic mines.

If only the world could love as this dog and calf love:

Cupcake's life wasn't always as sweet as it is now.

The young animal known as a "downed calf" was born with crooked front legs that did not straighten out as she grew. The birth defect makes it difficult for Cupcake to get around, but she is making progress towards a more mobile future thanks to Genia Kay Meyer and her pup Bo.

People pluralise things with an apostrophe and an S. It's as wrong as any other improper use of an apostrophe:
