Canada Is Useless

But don't take my word for it:

How embarrassing!:

The Ukrainian government had supplied Canada with a long list of weapons it coveted — anti-tank missile systems, air defence systems, military radios, sniper equipment, night vision goggles, signal jamming equipment and so on.

It also called on Canada to add Ukraine to the Automatic Firearm Country Control (AFCC) List, a catalog of nations approved to buy weapons from Canadian companies. Any business seeking to sell defence products overseas was required to make sure the purchasing country was on the list and then had to obtain an export permit from the minister of Global Affairs.

The committee heard testimony from expert witnesses such as Peggy Mason of the Rideau Institute for International Affairs, who argued supply of such weapons would result in “escalatory actions” on the ground.

But the members on the majority Liberal committee were not persuaded and recommended, among other things, that Ottawa provide lethal weapons to Ukraine to protect its sovereignty from Russian aggression; that it reinstate the practice of providing Ukraine with RADARSAT satellite images, the supply of which had been stopped in May 2016, and that the government add Ukraine to the approved AFCC list.

The Trudeau government rejected the committee’s first two recommendations, saying it was “not actively considering” providing Ukraine with lethal assistance, and that “after careful consideration of the changing strategic landscape” had decided not to restart the supply of satellite imagery.

There is always room for money-laundering:

International consultants are promoting Canada as an ideal place to set up anonymous shell companies because Ottawa is unable to unmask their true owners, according to a new report.

Published by Transparency International Canada, a non-governmental anti-corruption organization, the report is titled Snow-washing, Inc: How Canada is marketed abroad as a secrecy jurisdiction. The research in its pages provides a startling glimpse into how shell companies established in this country can be readily exploited by kleptocrats, money launderers, tax dodgers and other crooks.

The report highlights Canada’s vulnerability to financial crime just as Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has led to heightened global concern over illicit money flows. It’s apparent, for instance, that sanctioned Russian oligarchs can easily hire an army of intermediaries, including corporate service providers and tax consultants, to stash their cash in Canada with little prospect of getting caught.

It's just money:

"BREAKING: #JustinFlation skyrockets by 5.7%, the highest in over 30 years. Everything is getting more expensive, and the Trudeau-Brown carbon tax, going up again on April 1, will only add fuel to the fire," tweeted Poilievre on Wednesday.

As I said - useless:

Cabinet yesterday for the first time acknowledged its national ban on “military style assault weapons” includes hunting rifles. Enforcement of the ban proposed by Emergency Preparedness Minister Bill Blair is now delayed 18 months amid Indigenous complaints and cost overruns: “To misguide and mislead Canadians is disingenuous.”

“Troubling” electric car rebates remain the costliest climate program, an Ottawa think tank said yesterday. Figures confirmed earlier Department of Transport data showing taxpayers’ subsidies are the equivalent of up to $700 or more per tonne of emissions saved: “The subsidy programs are very costly and inefficient.”

And what charges these cars?

Remember, Canada is who the electorate puts into office.

Well done, guys!
