It's All About Controlling People's Movements

Like so:

On Wednesday, the feds put out a press release concerning the controversial app that is considered one of the many culprits in turning our airports into an international embarrassment.

The release, from the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), says that “[t]o modernize and expedite the travel experience, the CBSA is now providing travellers the option to submit their customs and immigration declaration up to 72 hours in advance of their arrival in Canada through ArriveCAN.”

They claim this will see “travellers spend less time at primary inspection kiosks (PIK) or eGates when they arrive at the airport, resulting in shorter line-ups in arrivals halls.”

At no point throughout the release is there any acknowledgement of what ArriveCAN was created for – the submission to the government of mandatory health information. The app focuses on COVID-19 vaccination status – back when it was more widely applicable – as well as negative test results for the virus.

It's not about a virus or even eliminating illegal migration.

Were that the case, proof of a negative test would be sufficient to get on the airplane from point of departure, thermal cameras would be installed at the gates and Roxham Road would be shut down.

But those won't happen.

We know why.
