The Institution Too Big to Fail

Never question it:

Ontario's health minister says the province is looking at how to get internationally trained nurses working here as quickly as possible, as a way to address staffing shortages that have led to emergency room closures for hours or even days at a time.

Sylvia Jones spoke to the Canadian Press amid a growing chorus of opposition MPPs calling for her to provide tangible solutions to what they say is a crisis facing the province's health-care system.

You COULD train Canadian nurses.

Also:

Few Covid violations of workplace safety rules were documented in the federally regulated private sector, say labour department records. Staff upheld eight cases of refusal to work due to pandemic safety issues under the Canada Labour Code. The sector has 910,000 employees: “What is the definition of danger?”

And - I'm surprised that the government hasn't strongly pushed MAID:

"To make matters even worse, there's even people with disabilities signing up for [medical assistance in dying], because the waiting lists are so long for rental subsidies, and for housing and for just basic necessities, period, that people with disabilities are signing up for this just to get out because they cannot live like they're living anymore."

Bondy said some people with disabilities may also stay with abusive caretakers or be in homes that are unsafe if they cannot support themselves.
