An eagle-eyed reader directed me to this:
Not very original, Chosen One. Now suppose you tell us how one can use solar energy on an industrial scale in your own words and tell the taxpayer, who will undoubtedly subsidise it, how it will pay off for him.
By the way, Saint Brendan landed in the New World long before Christopher Columbus even existed (and even then he ended up in Central America).
But he's just a Catholic so who cares about him, right?
(Muchas gracias, Andy Canuck)
Can Andrew Breitbart's empire survive without him? In a word, yes:
That doesn't mean it's impossible. If I didn't know better I would say the vultures are circling.
A remake of "1984" is being planned:
God help us. How will George Orwell's dire warning of communism be mutated into something unrecognisable and unwatchable? Millions of communism's victims must be spinning in their mass graves.
And finally, Russell Crowe will play Noah. As in Noah and the Ark:
I will be very upset if the unicorns don't make it.
President Obama traveled here to the Nevada desert Wednesday to highlight the future of solar energy — and ridicule Republicans for trimming back federal funding to develop it.
“If some politicians get their way, there won’t be any more public investments in solar energy,” Obama said at the Copper Mountain Solar 1 plant, about a half-hour’s drive southeast from Las Vegas.
“These folks dismiss the promise of solar power and wind power and fuel-efficient cars. They make jokes about it. One member of Congress who shall remain unnamed called these jobs ‘phony,’” Obama continued. “If these people were around when Columbus set sail, they would’ve been founding members of the Flat Earth Society.”
Although this was an official White House event, Obama employed the sharply partisan tone he has reserved primarily for campaign rallies and fundraisers in recent weeks.

Can Andrew Breitbart's empire survive without him? In a word, yes:
But can a new leadership team and snazzy look maintain the rabid following and media influence that a larger-than-life figure like Breitbart commanded? Even those on the right concede that those are big shoes to fill.
That doesn't mean it's impossible. If I didn't know better I would say the vultures are circling.
A remake of "1984" is being planned:
George Orwell’s seminal literary work 1984 could be getting a new movie adaptation.Imagine Entertainment, the production house run by Brian Grazer and Ron Howard, and LBI Entertainment, the banner run by Julie Yorn, are teaming up to develop a new take on the 20th century classic.
The book is set in a dystopian society in a perpetual state of war, which in turn leads to a state of paranoia. Propaganda, surveillance, mind control and cult of personality—all concepts seen in totalitarian and fascist states such as Nazi Germany and Stalin’s Soviet Union—were taken to new levels in the book, originally written in 1948 and published in 1949. The story centers on a man named Winston Smith who works for a government branch named the Ministry of Truth, where he alters facts and histories but secretly harbors desires of rebellion (as well as desires of a forbidden love affair). The ideas in the novel became hugely influential in the worlds of politics and art, with the author’s name eventually becoming an adjective (Orwellian).
Shepard Fairey, the street artist perhaps best known for creating the Barack Obama "Hope" poster, was instrumental in bringing the project to Imagine and LBI and might take some sort of producer role once the deals shake out.
God help us. How will George Orwell's dire warning of communism be mutated into something unrecognisable and unwatchable? Millions of communism's victims must be spinning in their mass graves.
And finally, Russell Crowe will play Noah. As in Noah and the Ark:
It looks like Russell Crowe is about to start gathering animals two-by-two. Deadline reports that the Oscar-winning star of "A Beautiful Mind" and "Gladiator" will be playing the title role in the Biblical adaptation "Noah" for director Darren Aronofsky.
I will be very upset if the unicorns don't make it.

Let's not forget that Cristoforo Colombo was not trying to prove that the world was round (which was an accepted idea at the time) but that it was possible to sail the Atlantic to India. How quickly people forget this, and why he erroneously thought the natives here were "Indians."
Also, just a note, but the "unicorns" in the Bible may actually been either rhinos or oxen (which have a single crescent horn). There is some debate as to what the words "monokeros" and "einhorn" are referring to. So the KJV started calling them "unicorns."

Well- it IS Obama speaking. We can't expect the Chosen One to be omniscient.
That's also George Bush's fault.
