But Wait! There's More!

There usually is...

But... but... budgets balance themselves!

The country's dampened economic prospects could put the Liberal government on pace for $90 billion in deficits over its four-year mandate, a new report said Wednesday.

Research by the National Bank of Canada predicts the public books will sink deeper into the red due to the combination of a hobbled economy and Liberal promises of billions in fiscal stimulus.

Delusional or stupid?

You decide:

The U.S. says Russia's counterterrorism campaign in Syria is actually helping the Islamic State.

Brett McGurk, the Obama administration's point-man for defeating the group, says a Russian-backed offensive in northern Syria is drawing local fighters away from the battle against the Islamic State, and to the front lines in the war against the Syrian government.

McGurk tells the House Foreign Affairs Committee, "What Russia's doing is directly enabling ISIL."
He says Russia is strengthening Syria's government, worsening a humanitarian crisis and fueling extremism.

McGurk, who will meet Russian and other diplomats at a conference on Syria later this week, called the developments "totally unacceptable."

So - Russia is helping the very people it is killing?

Explain.

Explain how Russia's destroying of ISIS-controlled oil tankers and liberating once-controlled Syrian towns is somehow inadvertently aiding the enemy the US and Canada refuse to fight.

Seventy years after meeting, an American soldier is reunited with his war-time girlfriend:

A 93-year-old World War II veteran from the United States embraced his wartime girlfriend in Australia in their reunion Wednesday after more than 70 years apart.

Norwood Thomas and 88-year-old Joyce Morris laughed as they wrapped their arms around each other after Thomas flew from Virginia to the southern Australian city of Adelaide to reconnect with his long-lost love. ...

The two are planning to spend Valentine's Day together.
