The Power of Corruption

The Liberals found something that they are good at:

It started just after 9 a.m. Eastern time when Democracy Watch, an activist group that attempts to hold government to account, posted documents on their website and then tweeted them.

(Sidebar: also, please see here, here and here.)

“After 4 years, RCMP confirms it is investigating PM Justin Trudeau and other Liberal Cabinet members for obstruction of SNC-Lavalin prosecution,” Democracy Watch posted to Twitter.

(Sidebar: the SNC-Lavalin that sold off  Canadian nuclear technology to China National Nuclear Corporation, a state-owned corporation, in 2016 so it can build up its nuclear program. That SNC-Lavalin.)

That’s a pretty explosive allegation, one that could topple a government if true. How could they arrive at such a conclusion?

The RCMP said so in very plain language in a letter to Democracy Watch.

The organization had submitted an access to information request for documents related to an investigation into allegations against Trudeau and those around him for obstruction of justice. We know there was an investigation because the RCMP confirmed it in 2019 and former attorney general Jody Wilson-Raybould said publicly that she had been interviewed by police.

“A review of the matter revealed that this matter is currently under investigation,” the RCMP responded to Democracy Watch.

The Mounties went on to cite Section 16 (1) of the Access to Information Act that allows them to withhold documents that would normally be released if there is an ongoing investigation.

“Once the investigation and any related court proceedings are concluded, you may resubmit your request,” the letter said.

The RCMP was clear in stating there was an investigation into the PM and SNC-Lavalin more than once in responding to the request for documents. After Democracy Watch posted the letter for all to read online, the post received plenty of reaction from political watchers and reporters.

This should have been something easy for the RCMP to confirm or deny, the first mainstream media outlets to report on it didn’t post for several hours.

Remarkably, though, the RCMP didn’t respond publicly until after 6 p.m.

“In response to numerous media reports, the RCMP can confirm it is not investigating allegations of political interference in the trial of SNC-Lavalin,” the Mounties tweeted.

The police force tweeted at 6:01 p.m., the story from Canadian Press with a response from the Mounties hit the wires at 6:11 p.m. The RCMP has a massive communications team, they have people who specialize in this kind of work, it should have have taken almost nine hours to set the record straight.

The Mounties, though, are about as open and transparent as the Trudeau government, meaning not at all. Part of what came out from the Mounties is that they did a lengthy investigation into the PM and SNC-Lavalin before deciding not to press charges.

“The RCMP’s Sensitive and International Investigations unit conducted an assessment pertaining to these allegations. As part of that review, the RCMP spoke with and collected information from a variety of sources, and examined the matter in the most thorough, objective and professional manner,” the RCMP wrote in a statement.

“After a comprehensive and impartial assessment of all available information, the RCMP determined that there was insufficient evidence to substantiate a criminal offence and the file was concluded.”

Given that the Mounties had announced their investigation in 2019, that they stated to the media that the investigation was on hold due to the 2019 election, at some point don’t you think they should have publicly stated it was all over with no charges laid?

Not the incompetent Mounties, they just leave it all hanging out there until forced to come clean. This is no way to run an investigation, no way to run a police force.

What is the purpose of this false-flag operation?

Was it to discredit Justin's detractors? Possibly.

Was this a shakedown for Justin, to remind him that even the faithful pit bulls in the RCMP can turn if not given enough incentive? Well, everyone needs the pension padded.

Was it to deflect attention from election fixing? It's not like the Liberals have any credibility here, at all, whatsoever.

It only serves to make people more suspicious of the most corrupt government this country has ever seen.
