What does one normally think of when it's Saint Valentine's Day? Star Trek. Why not? And what Trek episodes encapsulate the spirit of love? These ones:
(Sidebar: this isn't a scientific poll.)
Charlie X: nothing says love like an obsessive teen-ager with freaky powers.
Amok Time: "After a time, you may find that having is not so pleasing a thing after all as wanting. It is not logical, but it is often true."And the fight sequence (because nothing says love like a fight sequence).
The City On the Edge of Forever: And what list would be complete without this episode?
Reunion: Worf ices the guy who killed his woman. Romantic!
The Inner Light: Picard lives the entire life of another man. Fantastic episode and concept.
You Are Cordially Invited: who doesn't love a good Klingon/Trill wedding?
The Q and the Grey: the love between Q and Janeway was never meant to be. I mean- they don't even have the same taste in music.
Acquisition: is there a greater love than one between a captain and his dog? Probably not. Some other stuff happens, too, but in the end Archer saves Porthos.
Twilight: more devotion than romance, really, but still a great episode.
Now, let's wind down with some Ella Fitzgerald.
