We Don't Have to Trade With China

And, yet, we do:

Even as the Trudeau government had its “special rapporteur,” David Johnston, supposedly investigating foreing interference in Canada’s electoral process, China was harassing MP Michael Chong.
This is incredible and demonstrates how little China cares about any repercussions of its surveillance, interference, spying, and intimidation of Canadians who dare to question Beijing's dictatorial and genocidal policies.
Global Affairs Canada (GAC) admitted on Aug. 9 that China unleashed a "coordinated network" of disinformation against the official opposition foreign affairs critic, using a Chinese social media platform.

Cabinet yesterday for the first time acknowledged “highly suspicious and abnormal” activity in Chinese-language media targeting an Opposition MP. The Department of Foreign Affairs said while it was impossible to prove the Chinese Embassy was involved, “China’s role in the information operation is highly probable.”

Beijing envoys accuse Canada of interfering in China’s business. Cabinet was “malicious,” “farfetched” and “extremely ridiculous,” the Chinese Embassy said in a statement: “Stop spreading China-related lies and false information.”
