Some Thoughts For a Tuesday

Because I have them.

Someone who is brutally honest. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Some more honesty in the light of horrible thuggery:

For decades in Britain, black and Asian gang culture has been allowed to develop and triumph in the school system. Teachers and social workers are either too physically frightened or too politically correct to intervene, and an increasingly ineffectual police force is tied by “anti-racism” policies to stop the horror. The racism of lowered expectations has led fatuous, liberal, white people to argue that gang culture is somehow part of the black and brown experience, with most of the victims of course being other black and brown people.

In fact this sub-culture despises women, gays, the weak, and anybody who stands in its way. It has no respect for anybody and anything, and is obsessed with promiscuity, violence, and cheap greed. Idiot politicians have done little, because they can afford to live in areas usually untouched by the violence and anarchy.

Added to this is a generation of young, white people who try to replicate the black cub-culture, who increasingly are the children of broken families, with state-dependant mothers smothered in make-up, giving their ugly bodies to pretty much anybody. They have rejected education and authority, and survive on cheap lager, all-night partying, and the influence of awful, reality television, and tabloid sensationalism.

Don't let anyone tell you there are larger issues of principle or justice at stake because that is total crap. People have forgotten to be human beings with higher brain functions and that they live in a civilisation based on ethics that work. Stealing a TV or robbing a guy belted in the head by a hoodlum is what it is- a crime and there should be no reason why it is not met with such force that the scum in question stays under the rock from which he crawled.

Disillusionment- he has it.

Yes, this is why a president only has four years at a time to screw up a country:

Mr. Obama, by contrast, appears to consider himself immune from error. Perhaps this explains why he has now doubled down on Heckuva Job Geithner. It also explains his insulting and politically inept habit of suggesting—whether the issue is health care, or Arab-Israeli peace, or change we can believe in at some point in God's good time—that the fault always lies in the failure of his audiences to listen attentively. It doesn't. In politics, a failure of communication is always the fault of the communicator.

Related: what he said.

Next to South Korea, North Korean defectors flock to the United Kingdom:

Some 581 North Korean defectors have been given asylum in the United Kingdom, making them the largest group of all defectors in countries other than South Korea.

VOA on Thursday quoted unpublished data by the UN High Commissioner for Refugees showing that altogether 917 North Korean refugees have been given asylum in other countries. The U.K. was followed by Germany with 146, the Netherlands with 32, Australia and the U.S. with 25 each and Canada with 23.

Most of the North Koreans there first tried to settle in South Korea. "It's difficult for North Korean defectors to seek asylum in foreign countries without going through South Korea, and although there are no statistics we believe that quite a lot of defectors living abroad hold South Korean citizenship," a government official said.

In a parliamentary audit last year, Grand National Party lawmaker Hong Jung-wook of the National Assembly's Foreign Affairs, Trade and Unification Committee said some 1,000 North Koreans have applied for asylum in the U.K. alone since 2004, 70 percent of them presumably holding South Korean citizenship.

Kim Sung-min, a former defector himself and now the president of Free North Korea Radio, explained many of the defectors "originally wanted to go to the U.S. but went to the U.K. instead because word of mouth had it that asylum criteria in the U.S. are too strict."

"North Koreans have a favorable view of the U.K. because the James Bond movies used to be shown there," one defector said. "They often dream of the U.K. because they were mainly indoctrinated against the U.S."

If the Kim dynasty would just let them watch FIVE minutes of outside media, the North Koreans would know that now is NOT a good time to flock to Old Blighty and that a new Q has replaced the previous one (God rest his inventive soul).

(hat tip)

The Japanese should just turn their TVs off or watch reruns of LOST (which also has Koreans on it):

Around 500 demonstrators gathered around Fuji TV headquarters in Tokyo on Sunday to protest against broadcasts of Korean TV dramas. "No more Korean Wave!" the protestors chanted.

The demonstrators were brought together via messages on Twitter and other websites.

The protest had a noticeable rightwing flavor. Some demonstrators unfurled the old Imperial Japanese flag and marched around the TV station singing the national anthem. Others shouted "Long live the emperor!" The protesters accused Fuji TV of airing too many Korean TV dramas and demanded the government to cancel the company's broadcast license. They plan to gather again on Aug. 21.

I know there are Japanese just mad about Korean dramas. This is quite a head-spinner.

And now, STAMPEEEEEDE!
