After the Bolsheviks, who promised bread and freedom to the starving masses, showed the Romanov family the inside of a mine shaft, what followed was nearly seventy-five years of state-sponsored terror, starvation, poverty and isolation.
Does this look familiar? |
Oh, it does! |
The eastern and central Europeans, after decades of brutality they never did ask for, finally overthrew the shackles of oppression, showing one that a hungry mob is an angry mob and will not be bargained with.
No one in North Korea ever thought that they would have to boil grass to survive.
Before the next day dawned, the people of Phnom Penh were frog-marched out of the city. What began was a regime so brutal that it rivals the crimes of ISIS.
Did everyone forget? |
So, while one smugifies over the fraud that delivered a senile, old child-sniffer to the Oval Office, consider that every regime eventually goes bust, one way or another and its supporters, if not steam-rolled by the dictatorship they support or having killed themselves over how to use the toilet in these identity-boosting and erasing times, will be distancing themselves from the tumult they created when a reckoning is finally due.
Enjoy the decline.
