An Open Letter from Canada to China

Dear China,

In the light of recent events, we feel it is necessary to clear the air and set things to right.

First of all, not everyone in Canada, even the murderers, are sex fetishist cannibals. That's an erroneous assumption and it's just gross.

And yet, you sowed the seeds of paranoia in our own backyard:

The Chinese Embassy in Ottawa has warned citizens living or travelling in Canada to “strengthen their personal security” after the gruesome killing and dismemberment of a Chinese student living in Montreal.
The warning was posted to the Embassy’s website in Chinese on Friday, but left out of its English and French statements on the homicide. It comes amid growing discussion in China of whether Canada remains a safe place to travel and study.

We get the purpose of the Great Firewall of China but this tears it. No one calls you out on your dead fetus pills, do they?

South Korea has intensified a crackdown on the smuggling of capsules from China containing the powdered flesh of dead babies, taken by some as a cure for disease or a way to boost sexual performance, a customs official said Tuesday.

The gruesome practice came to light Sunday when Korea Customs said it had uncovered 35 attempts to import a total of 17,451 such capsules since last August.

The pills -- filled with the dried and powdered flesh of foetuses or dead infants -- were intercepted in the mail or in customs searches at airports.

We could but we don't. We turn our backs on God, hold our tongues and extend that courtesy to you. You think you might reciprocate?

What's the Mandarin word for rude?

If our country is so dangerous, you might not want to send your industrial spies here.

To pick just one recent example, a defector from China’s intelligence services has indicated China has 1,000 economic spies at work in Canada, more than any other country. Canadian researchers have been instrumental in uncovering a worldwide software-based Chinese spy network that targeted sensitive government information, while industrial espionage has pillaged Canadian industrial and business secrets.

Dirty pool, China. Dirty, industrial waste-polluted pool.

Yours',

Canada
