Cardinal Jorge Maria Bergoglio, now Francis I, has been elected the newest pope:
He has been chosen for our times. That is all that matters (RE: everyone who wanted a Canadian pope- like you would go to church anyway).

Just over an hour later, the 267th Successor of St. Peter has been announced by the senior cardinal deacon: It is Cardinal Jorge Maria Bergoglio, 76, who had been serving as the archbishop of Buenos Aires, Argentina.
He takes the name Francis.
