Putting your faith in these people, before and after (you know that you will), is on a level of stupidity that not even the specialists at NASA can calculate.
The Canadian death toll for the virus that the Chinese engineered and unleashed (accidentally or otherwise one can conclude one's self) now stands at five deaths, one of which is in Ontario.
Ontario has now declared a state of emergency because somebody has to.
Now the idiot government might be concerned.
Maybe.
They will emerge from hiding and offer empty platitudes that do nothing to prevent further cases of the coronavirus entering the country (like at Roxham Road - one really does need to read this - it's beyond farce at this point).
One can almost hear the eye-rolling of the scoffers who conveniently are hiding with their mounds of hoarded toilet paper and hand sanitiser.
"It's not as bad as any other flu!"
Yes, about that ...
The point these armchair quarterbacks blithely miss is that people who refuse to think critically and say that they put their trust in science also put their trust in people so phenomenally stupid, weak-willed and corrupt (consider who has the power to shut down anything and everything). An overburdened healthcare system cannot care for the people who pay into it or the people who don't pay into it yet expect it. No one has developed any concrete plans since the SARS epidemic and refused to act when it became known that even the Chinese were panicking over this. The unwillingness to think forward is also coupled with political correctness and squishy notions that will ultimately cost the lives of the elderly and the previously ill and then the economy, itself already on shaky legs.
Imagine this getting worse because it will.
God help us all:
No, now it is time to panic.
What could go wrong?:
Where are you getting the money, Justin?:
Also - if you work for a private business or are self-employed, you are screwed:
How convenient:
We will have to wait months before the judicial activists rule on the government's side.
Even Masses are cancelled:
Not only has the government failed to prevent the spread of a virus that killed these people but now their families cannot mourn together.
But I thought that "draconian measures" were bad:
Don't point out that this coronavirus originated in China and that the world was lied to by Chinese authorities.
It might hurt someone's feelings:
The Chinese don't like Koreans.
Just putting that out there.

Cabinet has approved an executive order naming Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland and Veterans Affairs Minister Lawrence MacAulay as successors in case the Prime Minister is incapacitated. Justin Trudeau has been in self-quarantine since March 12 when his wife Sophie was diagnosed with Covid-19: “This is not the time to quibble.”
No, now it is time to panic.
What could go wrong?:
The Ontario government will allow intermittent inmates to do their time from home, to help stop the spread of COVID-19.
An intermittent inmate is a non-violent offender who serves their jail time in several time blocks – typically weekends – instead of being jailed for the entire duration of the sentence.
“To reduce the possible transmission of COVID-19 in our correctional facilities, effective March 13, 2020 and until further notice, intermittent inmates who serve time on the weekends will be required to attend their reporting facility, where they will be given a temporary absence from custody and permitted to return home,” said a statement from Ontario’s solicitor general.
Where are you getting the money, Justin?:
One such example is that Trudeau has created an “emergency loan program” that can distribute up to $5,000 for Canadians who are stuck abroad and cannot get home.
As well as this, Trudeau stated that Parks Canada will be “restricting” its visitor’s services. This means, as Trudeau rather richly described, that they will ensure that “pretty much anything with a door will be closed.”
More significantly, however, is that Trudeau will be holding another press conference tomorrow where he will outline more government flexibility for consumers during the incoming tax season, and will ensure that businesses have liquidity to get through the crisis.
Also - if you work for a private business or are self-employed, you are screwed:
Thousands of federal bureaucrats who were told to work from home because of the COVID-19 virus are now on paid vacation so as to avoid overloading their work servers.
How convenient:
The Supreme Court of Canada has postponed until at least June hearing a constitutional challenge of the federal government’s carbon tax over the spread of a novel coronavirus.
The top court was to have heard the challenge, launched by Saskatchewan and Ontario and supported by several other provinces, next week.
But, as part of a country-wide effort to stem the spread of COVID-19, Chief Justice Richard Wagner says the court is putting off several hearings, including on the much anticipated carbon tax case.
We will have to wait months before the judicial activists rule on the government's side.
Even Masses are cancelled:
Funerals will have to be radically smaller than families and friends might want or expect, clergy Global News spoke to explained.
“Funerals have to go on,” Mississauga, Ont., priest Daniel Berereton says. “People have to be buried.”
“But we are asking people to limit the size of groups, which means that maybe not as many people come as they may have wished.”
If a family wanted to have a funeral in his church, Berereton says he would severely limit the numbers present and have them sit as far away from each other as possible in the space.
Not only has the government failed to prevent the spread of a virus that killed these people but now their families cannot mourn together.
But I thought that "draconian measures" were bad:
Every country in Europe should be taking the “boldest” actions possible to try to halt or slow the epidemic of COVID-19 disease caused by the new coronavirus, the World Health Organization’s European director said on Tuesday.
Don't point out that this coronavirus originated in China and that the world was lied to by Chinese authorities.
It might hurt someone's feelings:
On Monday, Trump tweeted his confidence in American industries before calling the spread of the coronavirus or covid-19, “the Chinese Virus.”
“The United States will be powerfully supporting those industries, like Airlines and others, that are particularly affected by the Chinese Virus. We will be stronger than ever before!”
In a reply, Eugene Cho, a former pastor of a Seattle church who was just tapped to begin leading a large Christian nonprofit called Bread for the World in July, suggested that calling the coronavirus the “Chinese virus” could be dangerous. Cho said in an interview Monday that he was not speaking on behalf of the Washington-based hunger and poverty-fighting organization and is still living in Seattle, one of the epicenters of the outbreaks in the United States.
“Mr. President: This is not acceptable,” he wrote in his tweet. “Calling it the “Chinese virus” only instigates blame, racism, and hatred against Asians – here and abroad. We need leadership that speaks clearly against racism; Leadership that brings the nation and world together. Not further divides.”
Cho, who was born in Korea and immigrated to the United States when he was 6, said he knows three people who have been assaulted in the past couple weeks, incidents he believes are tied to the spread of the coronavirus.
“I can’t speak for all Asians,” he said. “I know for myself and my family, we’re not just contending with a health crisis . . . there might be backlash verbal and physical.”
The Chinese don't like Koreans.
Just putting that out there.
Also:
When a group of seven Vancouver-area mayors landed in Beijing in April 2007, they believed they were in China to study eco-friendly development and build trade ties for British Columbia.
But an investigation by Global News raises questions about whether the Canadian mayors were unwittingly drawn into an influence campaign aimed at improving perceptions of China and reducing criticism of human rights abuses.
