Ontario Might Possibly Lift Some Lockdown Restrictions, Maybe

No clear word yet:

Ontario has released its plan to gradually reopen the province’s economy amid the coronavirus pandemic, though no dates have been provided.

The plan is laid out in a series of stages, which government officials said are necessary to ensure a return to normal is made safely.

“This is a roadmap, it’s not a calendar,” Premier Doug Ford said.

“We’re going to continue working hard and I just encourage everyone please continue following the protocols. We’ve come so far with this fight and we don’t want to give up.”

Even after reopening has been completed, the final stage of the plan includes the “continued practice of physical distancing” and “significant mitigation plans” to limit health risks.

Canada cannot last another month of a complete lockdown. Either Ford can gradually lift some restrictions or this province will go under and no one will than him for it.

Also:
As long as Quebec’s health-care system doesn’t become overwhelmed between now and then, elementary schools and daycares in much of the province will reopen in two weeks, Quebec Premier Francois Legault said Monday.

Legault set May 11 as reopening day for schools and daycares outside greater Montreal, with Montreal to follow suit the next week on May 19. He said attendance won’t be mandatory.

High schools, junior colleges and universities will remain closed until September, but Legault is urging those institutions to do as much online teaching as possible.

The premier said he is reopening elementary schools because COVID-19 infections in the province’s hospitals are “under control” and the virus is not dangerous to young children. Long-term care homes continue to be severely affected by the virus, however.

(Sidebar: yes, about that ...)

"What is a normal life will take a long time to return, and even at this point, two or three years from now, even once a vaccine against COVID-19 is available, we will have changed our behaviour. We will have taken measures as a society that will be different from what we used to do," Trudeau said in French.

Spoken like a true puppet hiding in a cottage.

You can't be on holidays for another two to three years, Justin. Not even your Chinese bosses will let you get away with that.
