Because Some People Are Special

Yep:
Protestors who were arrested in northern BC in February while blockading a section of the Coastal GasLink pipeline that passed through Wet'suwet'en territory have had all criminal charges against them dropped, according to CBC.

During the demonstration, a total of 28 people were arrested however Crown Prosecutor Trevor Shaw said only 22 of the people arrested had files sent to Crown Council for criminal contempt consideration.

The Department of Employment has continued to approve labour permits for temporary foreign workers at the rate of more than 1,600 a week even as unemployment climbed to a postwar high. The department in a report sought by one MP said it will begin rejecting migrant permits in hotel, restaurant and retail trades: “We need to stay focused.”

The Canadian Press is demanding 100 percent taxpayer grants, the equivalent of $500,000 a week, to offset revenue losses to year’s end. The news agency that calls itself the nation’s “trusted news leader” already received $1.3 million in sole-sourced licensing fees from federal agencies last year: “It would be most efficient if under such a program the grant be allocated directly to Canadian Press.”

Member of Parliament Marwan Tabbara said he is “stepping back from the Liberal caucus” but not resigning as an MP after revelations he was criminally charged with assault, break and enter and criminal harassment.

At this point, he is over-qualified to be prime minister. I mean - Justin only groped a woman, elbowed another in the chest, painted himself black THREE times and blamed everyone else for it. Tabbara upped his game to stalking (allegedly). That's hard-core and it's just what the Liberal Party needs to rejuvenate itself. Mere scumbaggery isn't going to cut it anymore. It's time to scrape the bottom of the moral barrel. It's what the electorate wants.

Speaking of scumbags, it's one thing if one is a poseur, a douchebag constantly seeking attention. Even if one is called out for it, it's better than no one paying attention any tantrum one throws at all.

But if one dares to let people eat on one's patio, even for take-away service ... well, that's just it!:

A restaurant in Ottawa’s ByWard Market says it’s been fined $880 after allowing customers to use its patio over the weekend.

The co-owner of The Grand says the restaurant let patrons eat their takeout orders on the patio on Sunday afternoon and was ticketed for breaking the provincial COVID-19 rules.

John Borsten says he doesn’t see what they did wrong given that the restaurant didn’t serve customers on the patio, and that others were eating on public benches and sidewalks nearby.
You're not Justin! That's what you did wrong!

Also - because Rex Murphy:

So now comes the logic test. If a dozen young people can’t gather for a soccer game, or 15 can’t hook up for a backyard barbecue, because it is dangerous and a real threat to public health — how can thousands of people congregate in protest on a city’s streets without barely a whimper from the authorities, health or political, about the “threat to public health” such numbers ineluctably contain.

Because, Rex! Because!

Only snowboard instructors and people blocking children's hospitals and people who murder children can break rules and bend knees!

If people really believed that black lives mattered and that they should go out with bandit masks (or not) then why not head to Congo? Ebola isn't contagious, is it?
