Sunday Post

A lot going on ...

What does China have to do to Canada and the rest of the world before we cut it off and let its people end the communist party there?:

Canada's intelligence agency warned that arresting the daughter of billionaire Huawei founder Ren Zheng would set off global "shock waves" and seriously affect ties with China, just before her detention in Vancouver on a U.S. extradition request, new court documents show.

Oh, we mustn't get China mad!

**
The United States is using the case of a senior Chinese telecoms executive who was arrested in Vancouver on a U.S. warrant 18 months ago to create friction between China and Canada, China’s envoy to Canada said on Thursday.

“The U.S. has been taking advantage of Canada, and the U.S. is the trouble maker of China-Canada relations,” the Chinese envoy to Ottawa, Cong Peiwu, told Reuters in a telephone interview.

So  - either Canada is too stupid and weak to see through the US or China is making a poor attempt to drive a wedge between the two countries.

It's a good thing, therefore, that the Liberals work for China.

**
After weeks with almost no new coronavirus infections, Beijing has recorded dozens of new cases in recent days, all linked to a major wholesale food market, raising concerns about a resurgence of the disease.

There had been almost no new cases in the city for almost two months until an infection was reported on June 12, and since then the total number has climbed to 51, including eight more in the first seven hours of Sunday.

Are we still applauding China for lying pausing the virus it spread?

**

This must be dreadfully embarrassing:

Newly-released access to information documents reveal details about a shipment of deadly pathogens last year from Canada's National Microbiology Lab to China — confirming for the first time who sent them, what exactly was shipped, and where it went. ...

Dr. Xiangguo Qiu, her husband Keding Cheng and her students from China were removed from Canada's only level-4 lab over what's described as a possible "policy breach." The Public Health Agency of Canada had asked the RCMP to get involved several months earlier.

The virus shipments are not related to the outbreak of COVID-19 or research into the pandemic, Canadian officials said.

Who the hell do you think you are?:

A group supporting migrant workers held a virtual rally Sunday that called on Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and MPs to immediately extend full immigration status for all non-permanent residents.

I see that the Liberals are not the only ones entitled to entitlements.

It's only money:

The Department of National Defence is being called out for not properly tracking the rollout of the Liberal government’s plan to invest tens of billions of dollars in new military equipment, troops and training.

The criticism is contained in an internal Defence Department audit and follows previous concerns that delays and other problems are slowing implentation of the plan, which was first unveiled in 2017.

The plan is seen as critical for replacing much of the military’s aging equipment and adding new capabilities such as armed drones and defences in cyber and space that are needed for 21st-century warfare.

If there is a "pattern of abuse" or "systemic racism", why all of the distortions and obfuscations?:

The chief of a New Brunswick First Nation has asked members of his community to refrain from speaking to the media about a police shooting Friday that claimed the life of a local Indigenous man, saying an independent investigation into what happened is underway.

This investigation:

The RCMP said officers responded to a complaint about an “unwanted man” in Metepenagiag at 7:40 p.m., local time. The man had “several knives,” they said.

(Sidebar: and this from the US.)

Let's look at it this way: what will be accomplished by presenting every instance of police/alleged culprit as full-out racism? Does one really think that the facts will never be unearthed? Who will believe a genuine case of racism or police brutality after so many false wolves?

Also:
Speaking on CBS “Face the Nation,” Scott said a new policy to decertify police who engage in misconduct could be a compromise as he negotiates with Democrats, who have called for more drastic measures, such as ending the “qualified immunity” legal doctrine that helps shield officers from liability.

And - I thought that they had all of this together:

As he talks to Cooper and says people can move freely, he’s interrupted by an angry anarchist who has to be stopped from getting to the reporter by what appears to be their security crew. As the reporter tries to continue to talk to Cooper and maintain normality, you can see him moving away in fear from the anarchist and Cooper trying not to react to a clear danger.

Then the reporter also admitted that there were folks there who were “no doubt armed,” contradicting CNN’s report that suggesting they weren’t armed.
