And the Rest of It

Screw off, China:

Also - Justin Trudeau is a disgusting, soulless creep:

Hong Kong refugees are fleeing persecution by the Communist Chinese regime and they want to seek refuge in Canada.

You would think the Trudeau government would welcome these refugees with open arms, but no – instead the government is being non-committal and for once not virtue-signalling about refugees.

An anti-abortion group consisting of just two employees has received notice from the federal elections commissioner that it is being investigated for violating federal campaign laws. The investigation is looking into Ottawa-based RightNow’s role in helping connect anti-abortion campaign volunteers with like-minded candidates during the 2019 federal election. ...

The Commissioner of Canada Elections is investigating Rebel Media’s Ezra Levant for releasing an unflattering book about the Liberal party during the 2019 election campaign. Levant secretly taped and then published videos of the meeting in which he was questioned. It also recently investigated campaign consultant Warren Kinsella for alleged running a smear campaign in 2019 on behalf of the Conservatives against People’s Party of Canada leader Maxime Bernier. Kinsella was exonerated.

Such investigations risk contributing to further silencing of political debate in Canada during elections, said John Cameron, a politics professor at Dalhousie University. He has been researching the way well-intended Canadian campaign laws negatively affect participation rates, especially by smaller groups across the political spectrum.

It's just welfare by another name:
A landmark study conducted in Finland shows that giving the unemployed free money doesn’t provide the boost to the jobs market that some had hoped it would. But it does raise happiness levels.

The final results, published on Wednesday, are in line with initial findings released in February 2019. The main conclusions suggest that a basic income improves the mental well-being of recipients and makes them feel more secure with their finances.

Because they are handed money.

Quelle surprise.

When people realised that overfed unionised workers were unavailable and that educational resources on the Internet were just as good as classroom instruction or even better, it sunk in for some people how utterly wasteful the modern education system is:

We need to ask ourselves what we are opening the schools for. It's time to be honest that the plan is to use the schools as daycares

North Koreans will replace Chinese labourers as the new exploited masses and the nuclear con game can continue:

Well, now you've done it!:

Canadian legend William Shatner had choice words for the Lethbridge, Alberta police department after a video went viral showing the police force arresting a woman dressed full-clad in a Stormtrooper outfit, with a model E-11 blaster included.

The woman was arrested on May the Fourth (be with you) after citizens complained that someone had a firearm.

The following day, Shatner, partially-in character as Captain Kirk, tweeted a message to the police force, criticized the force for drawing their guns at the cosplayer.

"Captain’s Log Stardate 49: Sending my contempt this morning to the [Lethbridge Police] of Alberta, Canada [and the Lethbridge Police chief.] Rifles drawn for a plastic toy Cosplayer? Didn’t comply right away? Are you blind Chief? Watch the video to see how quickly she complied. This cannot be covered up," tweeted Kirk—erm, Shatner.

When some on Twitter pointed out that the gun looked somewhat realistic, Shatner pointed out that officers still had guns pointed at the trooper while she was on her knees."

"When she's on her knees and the officer has his rifle ready to shoot; he is a mere few feet from the gun. If he couldn't see it was a toy he should retire, yet they continued and slammed her to the ground and bloodied her nose," said Shatner.
