SEE: Overlords, Chinese, Welcome

While isolated in our homes, China, the same country that spread a deadly virus around the world, pressed its boot onto Hong Kong:

China’s Communist Party will impose a sweeping national security law in Hong Kong by fiat during the annual meeting of its top political body, officials said Thursday, criminalizing “foreign interference” along with secessionist activities and subversion of state power.

The move is the boldest yet from Beijing to undercut Hong Kong’s autonomy and bring the global financial hub under its full control as it works to rewrite the “one country, two systems” framework that has allowed the territory to have a level of autonomy for the past 23 years.

After steadily eroding Hong Kong’s political freedoms, Beijing signaled that the national security law will be a new tool that allows it to directly tackle the political dissent that erupted on Hong Kong’s streets last year. The months-long and sometimes violent protests began in June and fizzled out amid public health concerns related to the coronavirus outbreak.

The new tactic marks an escalation in Beijing’s crackdown in the former British colony and the clearest indication that it views Hong Kong as a restive region to be brought to heel after the protests.

This is the same country Canada's puppet leader admires above all others and from which he seeks a vaccine.

Will Taiwan be next as Canada gladly looks on?:

Taiwan stands out as a rebuke to Beijing’s claim that its totalitarian system is superior to democratic states in controlling infectious diseases, and Taiwan’s accomplishment has particularly enraged Beijing, which has long maintained a specious claim that Taiwan is a breakaway province that rightfully belongs to the People’s Republic of China. Most significantly, Tsai’s government accomplished its victory over COVID-19 by ignoring the calamitous advice of the World Health Organization’s director-general, the Beijing sycophant Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus. Tedros has responded by lying through his teeth, denying that Taiwan warned the WHO well in advance of Beijing’s admission weeks after the fact that something very much like the 2002-2003 SARS virus was causing people to drop like flies in the Chinese city of Wuhan.

China churns out any number of loudmouthed lick-spittles who will one day be disgraced and disappear faster than a doctor warning people about the coronavirus:

The diatribes unleashed by Foreign Ministry information chief Hua Chunying are usually ignored in the West, but for China’s people, these are often the only word on the United States that makes it through the heavily censored media.

“Have they no shame? Don’t they owe the American people an apology? Disregarding facts and shifting blame to China only illustrates what it means to be scoundrels,” she fired back earlier this month, responding to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo’s accusations that Beijing sought to cover up the coronavirus outbreak.

The Americans aren't the ones caught with wet markets and destroying samples, voice-box.
